    Jump Seat

I don’t even have my boat in my possession yet and I am thinking up projects to do when I get her. One thing that ran across my mind is closing in the bottom of the Jump seat and using it for storage, ice chest, or a place to keep the end of day cleaning supplies. Has anyone converted there jump seat? If so what did you do?

sounds like a good idea, but then it'd be that much more less portable. It wouldn't be that easy to just toss around a chest full of ice and soda and clothes like it would be if it were hollow. and will you be able to make the cushion part pop up like the ones do on the 220?

sounds like an awesome idea, just seems like a lot of work...

I stuff a couple of the cheep orange life vests in the bottom and back to make sure the coast guard is happy... I was going to net the bottom to help hold em in but never got around to it, we usually just have it behind the pilot when its warm and next to the pilot when its cool...

I seen somebody rebuild the seat bottom with MDF and put in a 10" sub. I thought that was pretty good use of space.
I do the orange lifevest idea too.

I had a Nautique jumpseat in my mastercraft for a while, but the dimensions just weren't right (my observer seat is taller). I ordered the original skins for the jump seat for my boat and built a custom jump seat based on those dimensions and added a few things like under seat storage and a hinged bottom cushion so people wouldn't step on the vinyl.

That is a great idea. I like that cooler idea. However, I can't tell from the pic how big it is.

These are rough dimensions I made using the OEM seat. I also have dimensions for the OEM Nautique seat base that I used the season before. Bear in mind that the MC base is contoured, so it is wider than the rear, which is around 12.5".

As for the cooler, it's just big enough to get one of those small, soft coolers underneath it. I thought about doing an integrated cooler, but draining to the bilge was more than I felt like tackling when all was said and done. The seat sits atop my ski locker and that gets enough water in it already.
