Making a Holiday Donation to Planetnautique

I've truly enjoyed participating in planetnautique.com over this last year. The information exchange, banter, and ribbing are terrific, and this is a great group of people. So many characters: Mikeski, hsmunoz, redelf, Abun, AN211 or whatever he's called, Dragon, Fatboy, Old Fart, Sound Illusions, SGY, Hollywood, on and on.

As this is a Season of giving, I thought it was about time to give something to Planetnautique.com which has given me a lot of hours of entertainment over the last year. I've made a paypal donation, which you can do simply by clicking on the "Make a Donation" tab on the left of your screen. If you have a Paypal account, it takes about 10 seconds to donate. If not, it will take about 5 minutes to set up.

I'd encourage anyone who enjoys this site as much as I do to consider a donation. It's not free to run this thing, and Jeff and Luke do a great job.

Jeff/Luke, when you say "a number" of donations, I'm assuming that is more than the three above. I'm sure some of the donors do so anonymously.

To everyone else out there, if you've received more than a couple hours entertainment by participation in PN.com, then I'd urge you to at least donate the price of a movie ticket. Just
a few bucks from each great participant here goes a long way in paying for the servers, storage, nic cards, software, cables, rack space and power required to run the site (not to mention time spent by Jeff and Luke away from family friends and boat while they fix things you never even see were broken).

Obviously, no one is getting strong armed. If you can afford a few bucks, great. If not enjoy you Holidays, and perhaps Planetnautique will be a part of your Holiday list next year.

Yes, just recently I've learned how much money and TIME it takes to keep one of these sits up and running. Let me tell you guys, it's no easy task. I can't imagine how much time it took to get PN to what it is today, from what it was 2 years ago. Jeff, keep an eye out for another old-school letter in the mail.... Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

I feel I've donated through time and effort designing the PN logos- hopefully it has gone towards selling some merchandise and indirectly helping the site out! Always willing to do any more web/graphic work as needed, on the house. I also have some good DIY's coming down the hatch, if I ever have time to put them together. I've been shooting pics of the last few projects I did.

Well, I've been off the site for some time due to work and such, but here is a topic that I feel strong about. I actually wanted to bring the subject up before but never really felt comfortable or thought of diplomatic way to do so. So thanks to BKH for breaking the ice.

As it works today, you can make a $50 donation once and remain a premium member forever. Just doesn't seem right, so I'll send in my 2006 donation now. And I'll include on for Abun too, as Jeff and Luke have certainly earned it in consulting fees alone.

Yes, M3Fan designed our logo, and I still think it is a great design! It is on most of the PlanetNautique Store items, and has become well recognized in the industry. I never could have come up with anything as good.

Can you tell us or direct us to the definitions,
of what constititues a premium, platinum, bronze and whatever
else memberships are? I have never donated but will in the new year.

Well, as of right now, the levels are listed here. I have been meaning to make that available on the donations page for the longest time, but limitations with PayPal and the way it integrates with our site are making that difficult.
