Looks to me like the prop and rudder are in place in the above mentioned picture. Wouldn't they have damage or be torn off themself's if the boat had hit something hard enough to take the wedge out like that?
I know of two wedges that are sleeping at the bottom of falls lake in Raleigh NC. and they did not hit anything when they came off in the middle of the channel.Life is Short, Live it!

Not sure, but the rudder on that Bu looks fairly tweaked. My guess is that the boat encountered a log or sum nefarious object. I can't imagine the wedge simply departing the transom just because of force from the water as Fatboy suggests. Maybe they've come off because of faulty sheer pins or other mechanical fasteners.
In any event, nice post Nauti84.

We are all loyal to our boat mfgs. Have ripped other owners and been ripped BY other owners. But the start of this was a dealer/mfg talkin smack about another mfg. I can say that the one thing that sold me on CC was that I never heard theirtalking shizz about another mfgs boat. They pointed out diferences in build/materials but I can say I never heard that slamming another. I can't tell you how many times I've heard another dealer talk bad about CC to try to sell their own boat.

What do you think pointing out the differences in two brands is? That is a polite way of "bashing" the compitetion. If it is done in a propper manner it does not feel dirty or rude, but when the CC dealer tells you his boat is better because the thingamajiggy is 2" thicker, he is bashing the other mfg for not making it thicker. It is all in perspective. I would bet the people that bought a 'bu say the cc dealer bashed the bu also.

Polite bashing is not something that this particular Malibu dealer was interested in. I'm sure this is not the case for most dealers. I don't want to get into details but the dealer told some out and out lies about CC that were easy to disprove.

My experience has been a general lack of knowledge by dealers and in particular salesmen. Rash generalizations seem to be the norm as opposed to feature benefits and detailed product knowledge.
Malibu, Moomba, Correct Craft, and Mastercraft all build good boats. The differences are small but for some people they are significant.
The consumer cannot depend on a dealer as a sole source of information, you have to do your homework.
Anybody bought a car recently? How can a car salesman sit at a dealership all day and not bother to look at a brochure? Seriously, you would think that out of sheer boredom they would pick up the brochure for the product they are trying to sell. Rash generalization on my part and I know that there are some very good sales associates it's just that I can't seem to find them. I was SUV shopping on Wednesday and spent more of my time educating the salesmen rather than the other way around.2018 200 Team H6

Favorite Malibu story.....
I was told by a Malibu rep that I absolutely threw my money away by buying a Nautique. Overpriced, and outdated. He then went on to explain that if I bought my boat for the wake it made, I must not be that good of a rider. "The riders at the cable park in Florida get 30 feet in the air without a wake!" "Why would you ever buy a boat and make the wake part of your buying decision?" Absolutely a true story. The person who said \"Money can\'t buy happiness\" never rode behind an \"OLD\" 210.

Malibu and MC did talk smack which I tried to ignore, the CC guy just talked about their quality and expierence. None of the sales guys had that great of a presentation it was the boat that did the talking.
I have a thread in here that talks about how close we were to buying a Malibu and Jeff and Luke and a few others saved us

All of us have different needs, wants, demands, and passions....that's why there are many boats types, styles, and manufactures to choose from. Thank goodness....
Having a good dealership and salesman is huge part of this issue. Your feelings about a boat can be directly impacted by the dealership and the salesman.88 Ski Nautique
