Sorry, should have included the name. Sail & Ski covers the Austin/San Antonio market.
The reason I ask about the service on Lake LBJ is my boat stays on the lake and they have contracted with a marina on the lake to do all the warranty work unless it is something really major. That would mean I wouldn't have to get a trailer, saving some money and clearing some space. With all of the other dealers I would have to drive 1 to 1.5 hours in the for any warranty work.
I am sure there will be a day I regret not having a trailer but it makes an upgrade to the TE from SE easier. Can always pick one up later. The trailer manufacturer they are using is based in Austin, Magnum.
Austin boat show is this weekend, hope to make some decisions soon.
I have not personally delt with them, but I have heard good things. They are a bigger dealer that handles multiple brands, and some large boats used on travis. I would bet their service is good since they sell a bunch of boats for Lake Austin. I have a Magnum trailer, and while their service is great, the design of the trailer leaves a lot to be desired. If I was buying againg today, I would go with a Ramlin trailer, and pay extra for it. You might inquire about trailer rental or if you could borrow a trailer if needed. If I had a house on a lake, I would probable not want a trailer if I did not have ample space to store it.
I have heard good things about the dealer but never dealt with them other than talking to a salesman. My impression is favorable but you never really know how good they are until you've had a problem.
I am curious about the subcontractor but also want to make sure they will stand behind it if the sub flakes out.
