    210 Wakes

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to balance out the profile of the wake when the ballast is filled and there are only a couple of crew onboard.

I was really suprised to find it necessary to move people about inside of the boat when out with mates, in order to get an even profile on both lips, and was wondering if this problem is common to all all 'wakeboard' boats or just this one in particular.

I am seriously thinking of getting a 210 but obviously as they cost alot of bucks I want to make sure everything is right, and given that the wake is what its all about this is my number one priority in selecting the boat.

I've got to get round to riding in some others but found this site so thought I'd ask the question.

Get about 50-70 lbs of lead bars and shift them around to compensate for where people are sitting.

Any boat is going to do that if you load it unevenly (port and starboard)

Or you can just drain one of the tanks to balance out the wake.
    How about \"Chales\"?

I've surmised that a 210 (post-'00 anyway) is heavier on the port side because of all the extra fiberglass/cushions/vinyl from the seating that does not exist on the starboard side. For this reason possibly, and maybe others (direction of prop spin and center weight of engine???), you will need a little more weight on the starboard side. Fly High offers a 150 lb. cubic 16" ballast block that would do the trick just fine; I think there is another fat sack manufacturer out there that makes a somewhat smaller, easier-to-move ballast block that would get the job done.

It seems to me that most of the V-drives when loaded up are picky on weight placement. I just usually empty one of the sacs to compensate for people or make some one move a little to clean it up. It is almost easier to have someone shift around rather than messing with filling or emptying ballast.

I just tell the people in my boat that the side of the boat that has the most white water, when the boat is going straight, and the boarder is directly behind the boat, needs more weight. Be careful with a boat load of females, it could create a touchy situation.

I have always thought one of the boat manufactures would create a solution to this problem. i can think of two ways, and there are probably more. 1) a 100lb weight on a track that automatically switches sides to make the boat level. 2) a ballast system that you could push a button to equalize the weight. it would fill one side and empty the other until the boat was level. of course this can be done manually, but it is a major distraction to do this while pulling a boarder.

I have two 65lb golden retrievers that i tell to move to the side that needs more weight after the rider gets up. A lead bar works good also but you have to leave it laying around in your boat.

How do you get your labs to stay on the light side?

My mutt tends to run back and forth constantly when anybody is behind the boat, and even some when nobody is back there.

i am lucky that they like to stay put while the boat is under way. i think they like to stay out of the wind so they lay down. they hate riding in the bow, if i put them up there they try to sneak to the back.

The "Fat Brick" is exactly what I use to balance out my boat. Works great.

                    Yes,

I am going for the dog thing.

                    No electronics.
                    No sacks.
                    Female in the bow.

A labrador or retriever is good swimmer also.

Be carefull with passing and throwing the handle, they retrieve it instantly.

just add an extra 1000lbs (be it water, lead or people) to the bow and center of the boat and use the small amount of factory balast to trim the wake.

I find the rider pulling the boat around effects the wake just as much.

I keep four fifty # bags of lead in the cabin and move them around as necessary.
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.
