    Boat names

Correct Craft has a history behind it. Since 1925. In spite of any other opinions, this cannot be denied. Tradition. It is what is important to me. I was disappointed in 2000 when CC downplayed the Correct Craft name and went to the Nautiques logo, and the giant "N". In 2003, CC tried to drop the "Super Air" designation from their 210, and input back to the factory got the boats named "Super Air" by the middle of the year. In my opinion, the names should remain the same for the same model boats. A 19' 6" long, 91" beam closed bow direct drive boat made by Correct Craft is the Ski Nautique. No open bow, longer boat is. The 206 could be called a 2006 Ski Nautique Open Bow . A 21' 2" long, 91" beam V-drive boat with a tower, and ballast tanks is the Super Air.
If Ford made a heavy 4 door sedan with seating for 6 adults, lots of cupholders, a large trunk, it would not be a "Mustang" even if they tried to called it that.

I could second that. I like tradition too and am glad CC is bring back the CC name. Nonetheless, even I, years ago, refered to my boat as a Ski Nautique when someone asked. You can't denie the Nautique name has become synonomous with high quality, competition ski boat. That said, I think putting Super in front of the original Air, is pretty lame when it comes to creativity.

In my locale i've gotten mixed responses. I have the "Ski Nautique" lettering stripped from my '91. All it says is "Correct Craft" near the stern. People are always asking me what the heck kind of boat it is. When I tell them it's a Ski Nautique, they usually start nodding in recognition. Maybe they are just being polite.

Daniel, I think CC tried to address your concerns by putting numbers with the moniker "Ski Nautique", i.e. 196--the true SN, and the 206, the SNOB.
