I will be interviewing for a position in Seattle. Can anyone shed some light on the wakeboarding season/scene/places for me?

RE: Seattle anyone?
I used to live in Bellevue, WA from 1988 - 1994. The watersports world is very good in the Seattle area (i.e. Lake Sammamish or Lake Washington). Lake Washington can be awesome on the right days, especially along the I-90 floating bridge. You might also check out http://www.lksamm.com/ for details on Lake Sammamish. You'll also have to head to Eastern Washington on the Columbia river. The Seattle area runs a long season, however dry suits or at least a semi-dry are needed for a good bit of the season._____________________________________________

RE: Seattle anyone?
I was in Seattle on Business yesterday. A rare clear day in the middle of winter. Temps
in the 50s and beautiful. Water along the South side of the i-90 bridge was butter. Snow
on the surrounding mountains, but that water looked good enough to jump in. BKH2001 Super Air

I spent two weeks in Issaquah (spelling?) for business in 2002. My hotel was right across the street from Lake Sammamish... I headed over the first afternoon to check out the scene. Within half an hour I was a passenger watching a bunch of local guys rip it up. They said that most of the boats on the water are ski/wakeboard boats and most of the people ride something. Pacific Nautiques is in the area and I know there were quite a few Tige boats around. I think you will not have too much trouble meeting people.
There was a great Proshop in the area called Adrenaline Watersports. They advertise in the back of Wakeboard Mag and Waterski Mag. Good deals and cool people. I have little to no proshops in my area, so I loaded up when I was there. They have a great drysuit (which is the same as another major manufacturer, but with their logo). www.wakeboarddeals.com
I was there for two weeks in early October and it was sunny and 60 degrees most of the time.
Also, I know there is a big SkySki following in the area. A week after I was leaving, there were a bunch of them trying to break some record???
You might want to look at Yahoo Groups, there is a Skyski forum there which might help you locate some people.
Later,
Dave

cmb- I am north of Seattle about 1hr near Lk Stevens. Great community, and great boarding too. snwanabe was right as well, Eastern Washington in the summer on the Columbia is great, best place to ski/board over there near Entiat, just outside of Wenatchee, WA (just about 3hrs from Seattle), great camping over there. Let me know when you get here, and maybe I can hook you up with a ride.

Hope you get the job. If you do don't worry. Plenty of riding and if you join NW Hardcore you can find someone anytime of year. Yep, winter is the best time to ride here. Where in the Seattle area would you be? It's big and lots to ride depending on the location. Across the mountains is Entiat and Pateros. Shasta isn't too far for th week trip we take every year either. Check Wakeworld.com when you get here. There are alot of NW Wbrs on that site.

Another thing to do is check out the INT website at www.intleague.com and click on the state of Washington. They have a great website that lists local dealers, and you could go to a tournament this summer and meet a lot of enthusiasts from the area.ecarlson3
