For Ramlin owners- do you attach the turnbuckle before pulling the boat out of the water or no? Likewise backing down the ramp? At the last test drive I had the guy dropped the boat in and pulled it out without attaching the boat to the Ramlin in any way. I was a tad nervous but there was no doubt in this guy's mind that nothing needed to be secured.

I have a DHM its a nice trailer however it seems to rattle while stopping and starting more than any other trailer I have owned. Also the fenders are welded in, therefore when jerks in the parking lot crash into your trailer, it's a little more costly to repair.
Does anyone know if you can buy the "Nautique" grip tape like Abundiga909 has on his trailer?
Thanks

I really like my ramlin... considering a winch tower over crash pads... but will probably just add a winch to the crash pad as ramlin did....as the local ramp is frowning on power loading... (washes out the ramp) I usually un-clip before backing in, but clip in after the bunks are wet for the ride out...2001 PAN 1995 ramlin single axle

Unloading. Always unclipped.
Loading. Both ways. Usually when we load unclipped it is in conjunction with adding boat throttle as the truck pulls the trailer out of the water. Boat pushing forward till the props breaks the surface and then shut it down. Smart, probably not.2018 200 Team H6

About the carpet on the crash pads, mine doesn't have them, but I'm glad they don't. I think the trailer for our '82 is from '89, and those CC crash pads are carpeted, and now they're totally worn out. The carpet has literally deteriorated, and its just wood now.
The "NAUTIQUE" thing on my fender, that came from the Ram-Lin factory. That is not aftermarket at all, it was there the first time we saw the trailer too. Only option that may have gotten us that would be the stainless steel fender upgrade....
Overall, I think the Ram-Lins are so great, and fit our Nautique so well, that they can easily be mistaken for being made by CC. The fact that it is used identically to the way we used our old CC-Made-Trailer for the 2001, says something nice...I Nautique, therefore I am.

The bow eye, no, I'd say Hollywood's right and you're too deep. But, we did need to lower our V-pad several times until we got it right, so the keel of the bow wasn't hitting it and resting on it on the trailer. A good marker when launching/pulling ramlins is that to keep the fenders just barely under the surface of the water. The steeper the ramp is, I'd go a slight amount more in, but use good judgement. To far in and the stern just floats around and you risk the boat resting on the fender, which has happened to use before... more than once.... we had to drop back in, and re-center....I Nautique, therefore I am.

I unhook before backing in and hook up after pulling up the ramp, no problems in the past 13 years of doing it that way! My suggestion for that v nylon stop - take it off and put on crash pads! I did that on my prestige and works great! I found a used CC post & pads, cut a hole in it, mounted my winch that came off from the v pad on the post and put it on my trailer! Looks just like the setup that ramlin has.
