05 or 06?

So, do you buy an 05 210 at 5k less money, or get an 06? An important part being the ability to sell it in 12-24 months and get your money out. So how much is a model year really worth...

I have bought both of my Nautiques as past season models. 94 Ski in 95 and my 02 Air in 2003. The savings is considerable and my 2003 is worth the same amount as I paid for it. So unless you want the new tower and graphics I would consider the 2005. Just my 2 cents.

06 has has: new tower, ballast pumps, no valves, new windshield, new graphics, new electrical relays, and new v drive, and pick your colours. i choose an 06. i was in the same spot as you, but i plan to keep a while

06 also lost the air tubes, only the paddlewheel remains, so your speedo and pp will be the same

Problematic impeller pumps - the original ones were but now they're fixed you can drive the boat with tanks half full and they stay half full not fill up like earlier 210's. This is a huge bonus imo.

Paddle wheel speedo, why isnt this as good as the air tube?

Tribal Graphics, agreed they look malibu-ish. but the new tower makes up for more than this imo. And if you dont like it peel it and get an 05 sticker from your dealer. It is only a sticker after all!!!

You'll never get back your $5K in the resale in only 2-3 years, so what do you think of the changes?

I was in the same boat as you too but my difference was closer to $3,500 if memory serves me correct. However, I went with the new boat because it was being sold by my local dealer and the leftover was a 1000 miles away. In other words, it was the dealer relationship, not the features that I found was worth the difference, and more.

Well, these will both be from the same dealership. But, it is hard to believe that in Sept the 06 will not sell for 5k more than the 05. But, I could be wrong. That is what I am truly trying to figure out. In Sep or Feb of next year... how much more is the 06 valued at. 2k? 4k? 6k? But, I do like being able to order my colors and my options on the 06... but the 05 is in stock and can go to the stereo shop right now and be ready by March 1.

I think you can do better than 5k less. I'm thinking more like 8-10k less with a similar boat.

Have you ever drove a Nautique? In 06 they changed the way the boat goes in reverse. I like the pre 05 style. Just my .02 cents.
