Mine lasts for about 25-30 minutes on a full charge. I am currently looking for a longer-lasting battery. There are several options available from specialty battery stores, and I am just trying to find the best price now.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. check out www.towerhobbies for some batteries and such. I have been thinking about buying one but i would want to rip out all the electronics and install new equipment including a 13T modified motor... does anyone have any pics of the insides or can you even get into the inside of these? what size batteries does it take? 7.2, 8.4, or 9.6V? Thanks, Nick

It has a 9.6v. It's a flat pack, not like an RC car. It's 8 AA's put together flat.Former Service Manager

it would appear to me that you could make a custom battery pack using standard C sized cell batteries. Several hobby shops sell "loose" (not already soldered into a pack) cells and the solder kits. I think i am going to go buy one of these and start modifying. Thanks for all the shots.

Here are some pictures of my project. As a former RCer I have wanted a RC Nautique for years. When this came out I knew what my winter project would be! I have removed everything out of this boat and will be putting a 17turn motor, 2 6 cell NIMH battery packs, Electronic speed control, New radio and rudder system. It will be Direct drive though as I couldn't find parts to go V. Its a lot of fun since its fridgid outside anyway!MOE SCHLABACH

That thing is going to FLY... let me know how it turns out. Where will you locate the battery packs? Are you worried that two might be too much? Are you going to run them for power or longevity (serries or paralell)? Thanks, good luck, keep us updated on how it is going! oh yeah, what did the old electronics look like?

I put two battery packs in parallel, for longevity. Because the packs will not be removable. One concern is the motor overheating, They make a cooling system that uses water to cool the motor but I dont have enough space to use it. I'll just need to keep an eye on it. The old electronics had only a circuit board and two small motors. The board contorlled everything ( received signal, controlled motors, steering, forward, reverse, etc.) I'll have more pictures later on todayMOE SCHLABACH

Sounds good. I had one of the DPI model ski nautiques a year ago, and it ws great but leaked really bad. I had an Astroflight ESC in the boat which worked great... and then i used some old radio equip. from a vehicle i had. It was ok, but i did not have very good range at all. It went really fast but when i took it into a turn, the side of the boat dug under and sprayed the inside of the boat and filled it up. Keep me updated on how the install of your components go. Do you have to fabricate your own motor mount? What eqip are you using? I am excited for you, i will be following in yoru footsteps soon!
