The New PLANETNAUTIQUE Website

As I am sure you have noticed, we have a brand new PLANETNAUTIQUE website!

This website is another step in my attempt to keep things as current as possible, while maintaining the highest security possible for our members. I have been planning this update for over a year, but due to some functionality issues with the original release of this software, I postponed implementation until now.

Please know that this is just the first step in this phase of modernization of PLANETNAUTIQUE. We will soon have custom moblie apps available for both iOS and Android (for now, continue using Tapatalk if you use a mobile device to access PLANETNAUTIQUE), as well as several other key features that will be announced later.

I am still working on tweaking the functionality, colors, look and feel of the new website, but I didn't want to delay bringing the site back online any longer. If you have any major issues with the new release, please let me know!

I just got Tapatalk working about two hours ago. I found that I had to refresh it on my phone several times before it would load properly. It has been fine since then though. Phones seem to cache the old URL (the one with vb3 in it), and that causes issues since the data is no longer there!

Not sure if anyone else is having problems... But this new format is bad with an IPhone 5.

The ads are stacked oddly at the top. Wasted space in between forums. No ability to see the last thread in a particular forum.

I am aware that it doesn't format properly in Safari on iPhones. If you use Tapatalk (it is free and much easier to navigate on mobile devices), it is fine.

I will be releasing custom mobile apps soon as well.

I like the new format. Have an iphone 5. Looks good. Better on the laptop. As with most other aspects of life, change, stretching and challenges are approached reluctantly at first but embraced in the end. Thank you for all your hard work. We appreciate the effort to make PN the best it can be!

Thank you! I appreciate that. I realized today that in a couple of years, PN will reach the fifteen-year-old mark! That's crazy! It is more work than most people realize to keep this site updated and secure, and keep the content current, but it is a labor of love.

I am working on the formatting still, both for the full version as well as the browser display on mobile devices. I likely will not put too much effort into the mobile browser configuration though, simply because we have a much better option (Tapatalk), and an even better option coming soon (our own mobile app).

i thought the old version was much easier to read from a browser. any way to change that per-person in Settings?

What made that version easier to read? Is it the background colors? Font size? might be able to make some changes if necessary.

I cleared the cache in Tapatalk using the option in the settings and still no go. To get it to work I had to delete PlanetNautique from the forum list and then add it again. It showed vb5 in the URL but still would not load. This seems to have done the trick.

Yeah, I guess Tapatalk has trouble when you move things around on the server! I didn't have to delete mine, but I did have to play with it quite a bit to get it to work properly again.

Yes, it should. I just tried it and it seemed to work for me.

I'm missing the "EDIT-MARK AS READ" option...do you have anything to do with that?

The Mark Channels Read button at the top is similar, but it marks everything read I believe.

You can hover over the paper and pen icon at the top of a specific thread and choose Mark This Channel Read. That might be what you're looking for.
