I have 2009 206 w/tower (ZR409). skiing/ driving/ fuel milage A+ as compared to any V drive boat. I will say skiing has to be high priority to overcome the space/convenience in a V drive interior configuration. But if ski comes first and you need to put more then 3 people in it when not in the course the 206 is perfect.

Davidpsalt and jsta281, We are looking at a 2008 Ski that doesn't have a tower. Did you add the FCT to your boats? I had heard that an FCT on these boats interferes with the rope. Is that not accurate or is it maybe in earlier years? Which FCT is it you added? Not meaning to detract from original post but thought the input would be helpful for all reading this post.

You cant go Wrong with a 206 . Reminder it is a 196 stretched from the drivers seat forward. Long line to extreme short line the boat will do it all. Add a tower and you have a great all around ski machine. Agree with the stay away from the 5.0. Not to sure we sat many of those in that hull anyway.
I ski behind a 206 from time to time on the lake we frequent.
Good luck

It appears the wake gate was optional on 2006 and forward models. Comments on how good is this feature. Does it add a great deal of utility? Any idea how much this option cost when new? What features come with the LE or Team options? Thanks again.

Hydrogate you mean?
Yes, must have option in my opinion. Adds 3mph to top end speed, allows you to cruise more efficiently. Cleans up the trick wake. Slalom is unchanged.1990 Ski Nautique
