Congrats on the boat order! What engine did you choose?

So why does the metal flake discolor? I went down to the dock last weekend and looked at quite a few older bass boats and the metal flake did not discolor at all.

450 HP motor. It seemed to work well in the boat that I test drove at my elevation, 2700 ft.

My Malibu dealer pointed out that I won't be able to go fast enough to barefoot. I have only pulled one barefooter in the last 12 years, so that is OK. But just out of curiosity, what is my max speed going to be with the 450 motor and stock prop? And what is a decent cruising speed? I would be happy if it cruises at 30 MPH.

Sorry I did not see it. Here you have a link with a lot of pictures. I did the sticker myself with tape (because I made a mistake and ordered a white one)

You'll have 39-40mph on the 450 and 17" prop. Your best cruise will still be around 25.

              Nice work TRR!

If Ryan's speed calcs are right (and they prolly are) you'll be annoyed cruising over 28 or so... Which is where the tach needle will push north of 4k. At least if my couldn't-pull-a-footer-either MB 23 wake pig is a guide.

The 17" prop which performs like the 550 from 0-23 becomes and anchor in the water at much faster than that. Almost double the brass dragging in the water of the regular props.

If 39-40mph capability is correct then the above statement is mostly False. Not sure exactly how much speed a footer in tow will rob that huge barge, lets say 2mph, then your at 37-38mph, this is adequate for 180lb or less footer using the standard 10% your weight + 20mph equation. If your footer has some decent skills he should be capable of shaving 4mph off that equation and on a boom you can run even less then that. Could run even slower then that but it becomes low quality as you can't see past your own spray and the drag get's really tiring. Of course you better bring lots of gas money, lol, couldn't even imagine how much fuel that G will be burning a WFO.

                  Congrats on your new Boat!!

My boat is supposed to be complete on February 4th!!! Yeeehawww!

Does anyone know if the factory ever takes pictures of the build process for you? It increases the hype a little and is pretty fun. I have seen several manufacturers do that.

I just ordered a new 210 today and the dealer said he would e-mail pics as it was being built. He also said we could go to the factory for a special tour if we wanted to do that also.

Your neck of the woods, might be my neck of the woods? Echo Bay on Lake Mead?

I think a pink tower in a few years would look pretty awesome! Good thought.

I am EricR on FF.... Parker Strip.... The red on our boat that lives on a lift in the ocean has a red tower that is becoming "pink"

Good to hear from you, Eric.

I did end up going with a white tower. The G23 is overkill as far as a foiling machine, but I use it for a lot of family activities too.

Let me know in 10 years when you want to sell the G23.... I should be done paying for kids colleges by that time!
