    2002 SAN 210 Opinions

Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy an early 2000's Nautique and I've got my eye on a 2002 - 210 with about 450 hours on her. Should looks to be in great shape and the ask is about 25k. This isn't the team edition though, and I was wondering if that would be a big deal??

Would really love to hear everyone's opinion on this particular Nautique. Thankya!

I bought a 2003 Limited edition. Didnt have all of the ballast and a couple other options that the Team editions have. I ended up putting in a full ballast system (rear bags, belly and front bags), also put in Perfect Pass. Both of those are the only things that I needed to get it to be "fully loaded".

if you can find a 2003 brochure you can see the differences between the Team and other editions so you can decide what you'd be missing or what you'd have to add on. You can find old brochures at correctcraftfan.com

The team edition had some standards that your "non team" 210 May have. Ballast, tower, and, perfect pass were the major parts. I believe the team package also had a higher base audio system.

If it doesn't have built in ballast that can be looked at as a bonus to some because now you can install a system that operates way more smoothly, fills almost twice as fast, and offers at least twice the weight. Installing a ballast system is pretty straight forward. Figure around 1500-2k for a great self installed ballast system. Graphics are a bit different as well. Other than that it's pretty much identical. 450 hours is a nice spot for a 2002 to be in. It's on low side imo.

The hull and layouts of both the team and the non-team are identical. It's just comes down to options. This boat is wakeboarding legend. It's wakes are still talked about today as some of the best produced. The boat is the most fuel efficient of its era due to the fact in comparison to the other wake machines of its time(Xstar and VLX) it takes the east amount of weight to get good size. The main downside to this particular boat is storage is next to none. Very small storage areas compres to the Xstar and VLX of same time frame. Other than that the boat is a rockstar and will hold its value. Without knowing what options are on it I can't give a fair evaluation of the 25k. I will only add that 25k is a reasonable spot, but a lot depends on the condition and options

I had a 2003 210 and absolutely loved it! That's the Nautique that I owned the longest, and I still miss it!

the 03 210 is one of the all time great years for sure ... regarding the 2002, there are some things to be aware of. do some research on the "teleflex" gauges that came on that year. they are less than accurate when it comes to number of hours on the motor. there is lots of good info concerning this on here.

when considering team vs not and ballast setups, i value that a team edition already has the brass thru-hulls and drains in place for you to use. this makes upgrading from hard tanks to sacs much easier in my estimation since you aren't having to take time cutting lots of holes in the boat. also, perfect pass is a costly upgrade if it doesn't come with it. otherwise, i wouldn't be concerned with the other option differences like stereo, decals, etc. since you'll likely replace all of that too.

Awesome, thanks for the help everyone.

It's a 1 owner and has all the factory options. Comes with factory matched single axle trailer. Same dealer has serviced the boat since original purchase and assures it's been very well taken care. I'll still give it a good test drive and walk around though.

How do you guys feel about the wake behind this boat compared to the 02 - 03 SANTE?

Wake will be identical. It's the same exact boat. Literally. Same exact boat. Team vs non-team/limited is just different in standard options. That's it. A well maintained single owner, dealer serviced, clean 02 210 will not last if it marketed correctly. It's a well sought after boat. I'd be willing to pay little more for something like that.

I will also add that 03 is really the most desireable SAN 210 of that hull run. Not that an 02 or 04 is bad. Just that 03 feels right inside and out.

We picked up an 02 last year and love it. It's a late 02 build which has a lot of 03 components in it and the gm engine. I like that it has a nice interior, teak platform and I don't have to tape up vents when we try to sink it for surfing. I think it's a great mix of 01 and 03 years

That's the generation of the 210 hull considered by many to be the "classic" 210 with the legendary wb wake. I don't recall the year range for that generation hull, but in about 2007 - 2008 it was changed.

As Swatguy says, it is a sought after boat.

Sorry I overlooked the PN references, Jeff.
