    Boating in big-water?

So as my new (to me) SV-211 sits in the garage, I've begun to think about the supplies that I'm going to need for the upcoming summer - the general list is:

    Spare Prop w/ prop kit
    Throwable cushion
    fire extenguisher
    extra life jackets
    ski rope
    wakeboard rope
    surf rope
    surf board
    (anchor was included)
    binding lube

The things that I'm not so sure about get into items you'd normally find on a yacht or the like... I'm going to be boating in the upper Potomac, so it's mostly freshwater (brackish starts about 5 miles south of where I'm at, but there is *some* salt content in hot, drought-ish summer months) but I'm going to be on big water. Here's the list that I've got, but I'm open to suggestions:

Handheld VHF Radio (I was suggested to get a hard-mount w/ a full antennae up the side of the tower, but I really don't feel its needed...)
I'm a private pilot and my ELT is certified for both marine and aviation use, so I'll toss that in the boat if I'm going far away
    Emergency Flares (?)
Hi lumen rechargeable spot-light for getting up my creek after dark (also thought about getting a fixed mount one for the tower. This, I'm not too opposed to)

I've also thought about getting a set of isinglass for the front to button down from the bimini to the windshield for when we get caught in the rain... biggest issue here is that the dock is up a 45 minute no-wake zone, so if it starts raining on us, shelter is a minimum of 45 minutes away...

Any other thoughts of what I'll need to get started?

Add in an aluminum extendable paddle. Depends on where you live, a paddle may be required. Also if you boat in VA waters the boater's safety card is required.

I would also add a Navigation chart... I live in Arlington right on the Potomac... And between the tides and the shifting channels.... It scares the **** out of me. I boat primarily at Lake Anna, it's terrific.

I'll add the paddle. I've had the safety card for a while. Have been boating on Lake Gaston, VA for several years before heading up this way. Thanks!

No need for the paddle if you carry a ski less junk to haul around
