2014-UP hulls are deeper on 210 and 230 to help with spray? problem on older models?

I was looking at some reviews on the 210's and 230's and noticed they said the hull was re-designed on both of these boats to better work with the NSS system, plus they are much deeper than before in seating area to help eliminate "spray"?

Is the new design putting our much better wakes? and giving a better ride?

Also what is the topend speed on these boats? low 40mph's ?

    Thanks

The wakeboard wakes are still the same on the 210. . There is a noticeable difference in the 13 and 14 hulls with NSS. The redesigned 14 hull give you a much smoother transition on the surf wake and took a bit of the steepness out. This all gives you but longer pocket and more surfable area

The review I was watching did say the new design hulls really helped the surf wake and they also said that the hulls are much deeper now and make the boats feel much bigger and roomier.

It said that you feel safer and the issue with spray is almost a non factor now. I was thinking at first 2012 to present boats would be what I would look at, but now I'm thinking either a "leftover" or slightly used 2014 boat will be my best choice, or maybe bite the bullet and buy new.

I'm pretty sure I've narrowed my search down to either a G21, or 210, and then maybe a 230. Kinda leaning more right now to a 210 as I think that would fit my garage and budget the best.

Again thanks for all of the info. Anyone know the topend speed on these boats? Not looking for a speed racer, but just wondering if they are slow on topend if you try to out run a storm?

      Thanks

With stock prop and 343 engine, my 2013 210 will hit about 40 on the top end. Slightly less into the wind or current.

On the search front, I have personal experience buying the "left over year" boat from this dealership (technically, I bought it from another who went and got it) and had a great experience and got a very competitive price last spring. Might be worth checking out if you aren't too far away: http://www.onlyinboards.com/2014-Nau...see-44735.aspx

Or, I know that Webster Marine at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia (my dealer) has a 2014 G21 still on the lot. I can't speak to pricing as I haven't discussed it with them, but I know they have a new one from last year. http://webstermarine.com/ads/2014-g2...loud-nautique/

        Good luck.

I think the "deeper hull" Noah is referring to is the new deck design that provided a deeper interior depth for the 210 and 230. I think it's pretty important to understand the "misson profile" for the boat's use. If you have some slalom skiers, the 210 is the only option out of the list you provided. All will wakeboard well, the G21 will be huge compared to the other 2 in stock form.
My experience is the 230 ride is much better than a 210's in rough water, haven't ridden in a G21, but the G23 rides well in rough water.

dttheel, Thanks for the info! Ididn't even know that Webster Marine on Smith Mountain Lake sold Nautiques. Might have to go down there and check them out. I'm in Winchester which is about a 3 hr ride away.

Miljack, that's exactly what I was talking about on the deeeper hulls. Nice to know the 230 rides much better than a 210 in rough water. I'm not ruling out a G21, but from what I've been told on their heighth it might be hard for me to get into my garage, plus they are a bit pricier.

Not worried about pulling any slalom skiers,as it will be mainly tubers, wakeboarders, and now we want to try surfing

I was really leaniung towards a 230, but then when I saw that the hulls were changed in 2014, I began thinking maybe the 210 would be as good just a tad smaller.

I've been searching a lot of leads on boattrader, onlyinboards, iboats, etc., so I guess it will come down to the best deal I can find. Seems to be quite a few 'leftovers" out there right now so I might end up with a New/old boat.

I was hoping that these boats would at least hit 45 mph in topend, but I know they are geared for torque so topend isn't a priority

The top speed it going to depend on your prop and load but you should be able to get 40-43 max top speed, you will not want to cruise at that speed. My 230 with a 409hp tops out at 44 with lightly loaded. We will cruise at 28-35 when trying to cover more water which isa nice pace across the water.

Noahsark, glad to help. Mark Mills at Webster has been great to work with and has treated my family very well. Unfortunately, we had a little "old fuel" issue after our purchase and they got me help very quickly, no questions asked. I'd definitely give them a visit or phone call at least. I wouldn't mind if you let him know I sent you his way (never know when something like that might help). Good luck with your decision and search.

Thanks guys, and no problem Daniel I'll definetely tell them you told me about them.

When we get out and just "cruise" the lake, that's all I usually ran was around 25-30 mph, as that's a good speed to relax, enjoy the lake, and listen to tunes.

Just every now and then a storm would brew up and I might need to "haul butt" to get back to our cove. That would be the only time I would be wanting to go fast.

My old I/O would run close to 55mph topend so you could scoot pretty fast back to the cove when needed.

But it wasn't near the watersports boat this Nautique will be, so I know I can't have both! Lol

Maybe Nautique could eventually think about putting a two-speed transmission in their boats? Keep it in the lower gear for tow sports, but then have a slightly upper gear you could shift in for more speed and better fuel mileage for cruising?

                  They could corner the market?

                  Thanks
