need help

I just purchased a really sharp 1983 ski nautique 2001 and it has a silver metal flake paint job on it with a black metal flake strip. I called correct craft and it is the original paint . It was not a option for paint back then but I don't know why it is painted this way. If any one can help me email me.

Kind of sounds like the 25th Anniversary silver edition but the year is wrong.
