I bought one from Nautiqueparts and it was a pretty easy install, I actually drive one amplifier for the in boats and one amplifier for the tower speakers but I put the lower set of tower speakers on the in boat knob so the other controls only the HLCD. The zone control has one input but two outputs one for each knob/zone. I used a 6 channel (3 pair) RCA http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C6HZCI to connect mine and I chose the direct route across under the dash and then into the opening under the floor across behind the ski locker and around and into the cubbie to the amplifiers. I tried using self adhesive plastic zip tie retainers to hold the cables in place but the adhesive failed quickly, but some plain retainers with some epoxy seems to be just the ticket. I had initially used the outer ring to be the tower speakers but it is easier to turn up and down the inner knob singly than the outer ring.

Is there a way to hook it up to control one amp(cockpit speakers ) on one knob, and the other amp (tower speakers) on the other .

Yes, it was pretty easy and it came with clear instructions.

"Step 4 Connect an RCA cable from your head unit to the RCA’s labelled ‘Input’ on the Dual Zone Volume Control. From there, connect an RCA cable from the RCA’s labelled ‘Zone 1’ to the amplifier inputs corresponding with the desired speakers. Repeat for Zone 2. For wakeboard boats, Roswell recommends using Zone 1 to control in-boat speakers and subwoofers, and Zone 2 to control your tower speakers. Depending on your boat and/or layout, there are many possible applications. RCA Y-splitters (not included) may be necessary depending on your install. If you need advice and/or recommendations for your particular install, please contact us toll free at 1-855-962- WAKE(9253)"

ok great.mine didn't come with any instructions at all.at the moment my head unit has 2 lots of rca's . its a clarion cmd7. so one pair of rca's goes to the cockpit speaker amp, and the other pair goes to the tower speaker amp. I think one pair might be called no fader rca's or something. So if i disconnect that one , and just run from one pair of rca's on head unit and into the 2 amps from the outputs of the zone controller as you described. Will that change performance at all going not using both rca's on the head unit. Sorry for all the questions would just like to get this cranking.
          thanks.

these are the four rca's coming out of the head unit.front left and front right go to the cockpit amp. and rear left and rear right go to the tower amp.

REAR LEFT I NON FADER 1 Black (White)
REAR RIGHT I NON FADER 2 Black< (Red)
            FRONT LEFT Grey (White)
            FRONT RIGHT Grey (Red)

Typically I would use the Front outputs, non fader would be typically used for a subwoofer output so that regardless of where you set the fader on the head unit you have constant signal to the sub. Unless your setup has some speakers powered by the head unit the fader is irrelevant since your doing your control at the volume knob now, if you have a set of bow speakers on the head unit on say the front channels then you might want to use the rear rca's for the amps so you can try to match the level to the front speakers by using the fader but it would be better to just put all the in boats on the amplifier if you can swing it.

ok great. all speakers are through the 2 amps, non through the head unit, so i will run with the front outputs.thanks for your help, i actually rang the local roswell guy here and he couldn't even answer the question.
