    Grey seat option

About to purchase at new 210 and would like to hear any comments about real experience with the grey seats. Wife likes the look of them but concerned about how hot they are on a mid summer Texas afternoon. Anything my wife likes about the new boat is a real bonus!

It all depends, if you put towels everywhere it doesnt matter. I have had three boats, a Malibu that had a cream and forrest green interior (HOT!!) in South Carolina, a Mastercraft with white seat bases and silver/gray trim in San Diego (white not bad, the gray got pretty warm!), and an all white interior with blue stripes on the the Nautique. I hate to admit it, but the lighter the better so far, I know it is "bland" but...

If you look in the G23 thread linked below, they discuss this same thing... post #6: "2. If you live in Katy TX (just west of Houston), you're not too far from me. You're CRAZY to get anything other than white seats. Dockside has one in stock with grey seats, but it won't do much good to try it out in January. Just give the white seats a wipe down after use."

    Good luck and congrats!

I got the grey. Time will tell if I blew it. But my boat will stay in a covered lift, a lot. Frequent breaks too. I've seen master crafts with dark seats on my lake. I also use a Bimini. So at least my butt won't be too hot as these days I do most of the driving. . Ha ha.

On an upper nineties day, I measured the darker grey on my 210 at 135 degrees in the sun (too hot to touch for more than a second), the light grey at about 120 and the silver cloud at a little above ambient...I think just over 100. From what I saw shopping last fall, the current Nautique grey is close to my darker grey.

Question 1; Would your wife or you lay directly on vinyl at 90 degrees? Answer: No
Question 2: Would your wife or you lay directly on vinyl at 110/120 degrees? Answer: No

Point being white vs colored who cares, In Texas they are both too hot and need a towel.

Next, Do you boat in months other than July August and September? Like for example March, April, May, June, Oct, Nov??? Answer; Yes you live in Texas!

Lastly, what is the trend in high end luxury big boats? Its darker colors, suedes, and leathers. Look at brands like statement, nor tech, and MTI - Colors!

I think the grey is awesome and I almost copied an N3 boat last year that many of you probably remember, I ended up going with a different design and got tan. I don't regret it one bit!

If you want grey - get it!

Local dealer ordered 2 boats a few years ago with grey interior. They took 2 years to sell.

I agree that in Texas no matter what you use, it's going to be hot. But to me, all white makes for a cooler overall boat interior. I looked at the grey option for our white boat with a grey accent. It looked good, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. The above boat looks awesome though.
