I know this has gone around a few times, but has anyone tried to do it and see how it measure up. I would think by lowering the ball all the way to the ground after it has been started it, it would be very close to fitting.

But it can be done, I've seen a g21 at N3 that was on a slightly modified trailer measure under 8'. Trailer tire selection and rotating the torsion axles is the ticket. They said it can be done for the g23 as well.

The G21 is relatively easy. In fact, the trailers my local dealer uses (Superior Boat Repair and Sales in Sacramento...trailer from CTW) puts a G21 at 93.5" as standard--and still maintains 7" clear at the prop cage.
The 23 is harder because of clearance at the fenders. IIRC, the standard CTW trailer Superior uses puts the 23 at 8'2" tall. I'm having a trailer built that uses wider axles so overall width will be 9'. This allows the boat to be dropped lower on the trailer. Our target height is 93.5"...I'll let you know when I pick it up next month. 9' wide is legal w/o a permit in California (there are various conditions we're meeting...one is that the load and body of the trailer can't be wider than 8.5').
Props to Bob Bense at Superior and Kevin at CTW for working with me to fit my garage. It's been very easy.Last edited by xrichard; 01-20-2015, 09:51 AM.Previous boats:

I bought small "dummy" tires from my local tire store and put them on the front axel. It is a hassel though having to jack up a 5000 lb boat to put on the tires.
I still have to let a significant amount of air out of the tires to just barely get our G3 into an 8' door.

I spoke with ctw in california. His standard G21 trailer holds it at 93.5 inches with tower down. Plenty of room for 8 foot door at 96" with plenty of prop clearance. He has no dealers in eastern US, so getting one is not going to be to cost effective to us over here. Any Ideas?2016 G23

Other than having one shipped from CTW, you could see if your local trailer source will modify to get the boat lower. Given how easy CTW makes it look on the G21, it's amazing to me that other trailer manufacturers haven't figured it out. Perhaps their customers aren't pushing wrt clearance issues?
RE: shipping, you might check with the firms that deliver travel trailers and fifth wheels from Indiana (where most of them are made) to the west coast. They're usually retired guys with an HD pickups that haul the trailers out west and then often run home empty. Perhaps you could get a cheap deal to get it as far an IN and then take it the rest of the way yourself.
Or bid it on Uship. Either way, my guess is getting a trailer to the east coast might be more reasonable than you estimate at first pass.
BTW, from what I've seen of CTW, the product is high quality and they're stand-up guys.Previous boats:

I have one for 2016 G23. It clears regular 8 ft door. I believe boat measures 94.5 at tower with trailer on truck. You can squeeze another 3/8 by lowering tongue to ground and moving in by hand. I have no issues with my Ram LIn.2016 G23

I have G23 listed in classifieds showing boat on the trailer, it's tight going in 8'x9' door, but we do it all the time. My trailer is identical to Whitetail15's. http://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/sh...d.php?t=491997
