Looking to buy my first inboard boat. My family will mostly be surfing, wakeboarding, and tubing. Looking to buy this boat from my area, seems to be a good boat for the price. Any help would really be appreciated. The boat has to be able to do the above sports and be under $40000.

Need to know more about engine and options to tell you if it is a good deal or not. Nice looking boat though!

Also, when surfing with the 211, you will need to cover the vent on the side you're leaning so that water doesn't enter the engine compartment.

If surfing is super important, this may not be the best choice. I have seen it done, but it usually seems to require a significant amount of extra lead or water ballast. It is truly a boat that is "good" at almost everything, but not excellent at any one thing, (i.e. a 210 is a way better wake for wakeboarding, but a 196 or 206 would be significantly better for slalom skiing.)

I'm going to look at it again tonight. Do the boats come with under deck ballast? I believe it does and then this boat comes with piggybacked fat sacs in the lockers.

Thanks Jeff. Is the 343 A good, and reliable engine. Any known problems with the boat that I should look for.

The 343 is the most popular engine in Nautiques of that vintage. It is certainly known as a very reliable engine. Do your proper checks, though. I would get a compression test, etc. You won't need anything bigger unless you plan to barefoot behind it.

The 211 is a great boat. As was stated above, it is good at everything, but not great at anything. It is known as a crossover boat, and up until the Sport Nautique 200 came out, it was the best crossover available anywhere.

The SANO pads on the swim platform are known to get brittle and chip. This can leave some very sharp edges. Many people have opted to remove the SANO and install SeaDek in its place. It looks better, feels better, and lasts longer.

Also, some people have opted to replace the carpet with SeaDek as well. This eliminates the smelly carpet and makes the boat look newer.

Where are you located, we can help you find something close. I would point you in the direction of the 210 over the 211 for surfing and wakeboarding, especially if surfing is your main priority. You should be able to get into an 07-08 210 for 40k.

Decided To go in a different direction. Just signed all of the paperwork for my new boat. It is a 2004 23 XTI. I drove this boat two summers ago and loved the layout, but was disappointed with the surf wake from the DD and lack of locker space. I am getting two 800 pound fat sacs thrown in with it and a 3000 gph pump. Hopefully between the stock ballast, wedge, fat sacs, and crew I can get a decent surf wake. I will probably end up adding wicked surf to it also. I'm guessing with the extra ballast that I will get a decent boarding surf for the kids. With the very disappointing snow season this year my kids really want to step up there wakeboarding skills.
