Old thread here.....is adding the surf pipe to a 2014 as easy as bolting it up? Thinking about adding to my 2014 230.

Not really, but it's not that bad. I installed surf pipe on my 2012 210. Your boat might be different, But if it's anything like mine (with muffler and traditional flapper), you have to remove the flapper, and then the old flange. To remove the flange, I had to cut it into four pieces with a reciprocal saw and break the pieces out. Removing the first piece is the most difficult. After that, they come out pretty easily. Then you have to scrape all the old adhesive off. After that, fitting the surf pipe to the muffler is a bit challenging, but not bad, but the holes of the surf pipe will not match up to the holes of the old flange (at least mine didn't) so you have to drill new holes. After all of that, then (after adding marine adhesive, sealant) it is as easy as bolting it up. With a helper, it took maybe 90 minutes. Again, your boat may be much easier, but this was my experience.

But it is totally worth it. With muffler and surf pipe, my boat sounds like a sewing machine. And if you surf, surf pipe is great for displacing the fumes so the rider doesn't deal with the them.

I personally look forward to the surf pipe! I'm coming from an '08 Mastercraft XStar that had the upgraded motor and it sounded AMAZING! Always got compliments on the exhaust tone, esp coming from a wakeboat! However, If you wakeboard as much as we do, it does get old! Like others have stated, it is one of the best stereo upgrades you can do! I had 4 Wetsounds on my XStar and could still barely hear them over the exhaust when wakeboarding!

I love the surf pipe. I would not go without it. It cuts down on the exhaust you end up breathing in when surfing. Less headache and fatigue at end of day. Quieter for the kids too.

yep,... also added a 2014 210 surf pipe to my 2008 210 SANTE... same procedure as above... before you start... my 2 cents... read some articles on drilling through gel coat if this is your first time doing that

I have a 2013 G23 and I couldn't stand the amount of exhaust fumes I was inhaling. I installed the surf pipe at my first available opportunity, and it is fantastic. Now I wouldn't surf without it. As for the reduced exhaust/engine noise, I welcome that change. If you want a loud V8 rumble, buy a Donzi and go ripping around the lake. That's not the point of a wake boat that barely hits 42 mph on the top end.
