    All my girls are riding!

I got my 5 year old twin girls riding this summer.
I started them in the backyard on the patio learning to stand up with a rope and wakeboard.
Then we took it to the pool with me dragging them out of the water by hand.
By mid summer they were behind the boat on a surf rope at 11 mph.
I hope to ride doubles with them this summer.
Also got my wife going on the wake surfer, which makes this a family sport now!!!

here is the link if interested:

That's awesome. Love when the girls represent. Mine are 6-8 here in these pics. They are hooked. They both were doing one wake jumps at end of this summer. It adds an entire new level of fun to the whole boat and gives me more inspiration to keep riding. Mom rides too. Add in fact they both love ice hockey and play I have the year covered. Enjoy it.

Love seeing this as I was taught to ski in a swimming pool at 6 years old. The I did the same with both my son and daughter. Both got up the first time at the lake on a boom , then progressed to full rope starts. A swimming pool is the perfect place to teach the basics of skiing. Much better than a crowded, wind blown lake.

It is pretty amazing what these little kids can do. Jumping the wake at six is impressive!
Sounds like you spend a lot of time with them teaching them. I think that is the key!
I agree, when everyone rides it makes taking the boat out a lot easier. lol

Two future pros in the making. I wish I started mine out that young. BTW how fast are you pulling the girls? My friend has two that are 6 and we have surfed with them but now tried the wakeboard yet.
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

I started them at 8mph and later got them up to 11mph.
The 2 tips that I gave them that made all the difference in getting them up the first time were:
                  - to stay in the squat position until outside the wake in smooth water and then stand
                  - keep the rope handle as close as you can to your leading hip
                  i hope that helps.
                  Good luck!

Thanks, How did you decide what footed they are. We had them stand in front of us and gave them a little push backward. The foot that went back for balance is what we are using as their back foot.

For me we let them just decide. They just figured out which way they felt more comfortable with. My older one is around 17-18 depending on water conditions. The littler one is more like 14-15.

I started mine by keeping them close to transom with the rope in my hand(ski gloves help). Got them up very slow and gradual. Give them the feeling by teaching them to try and stand at 8-10mph. Most likely they will fall but they will get a feel for the way the board reacts and the way they can put pressure on the board to make it rise to surface. Then we goosed it just little more on next couple times and viola. I slowly let the rope out each time they got up til they eventually started all the way out. It's a confidence thing, well at least it was for my girls. They liked hearing dad coaching them getting up first few times. Then the rope just got longer and longer and they no longer needed dads help.

Try the exact opposite, foot they catch with is their Front foot. Another question, ask which foot they would lead with when sliding on ice or in a base slide, again would be their front foot. Have seen kids test one way and be more comfortable leading the opposite foot so you never know but it does give you a starting point.

On the start I see quite a few kids plowing way too much water, typically telling them to point their tows down or towards the boat solves that.

Great to see new kids out there, great work!!
