On a somewhat - although not entirely - unrelated note, there were very few things that I - also often being in the minority - found of value from my mba. But one of the things that stuck with me was the concept of value propositions. An organization can compete - according to http://www.amazon.com/Kotler-Marketi...r+on+marketing on one, but at the most 2 of the 5 value propositions. Those being: price, quality, image, service, and the 5th of which i can never remember. But i can make my point nonetheless. And my point - i will try to be brief - is that nettles and wakemakers can in my opinion - and that of kotler - co-exist with different - and i will refuse and refrain from saying which - value propositions. but my point is that there really is no need for judgement, opinions or martyrdom, or anything of the like. they (for example wakemakers an nettles) can co-exist. there will always be people that will - in a free market economy choose each. let freedom (e.g. of choice) reign and forums bs like ours go on. peace out...

we agree, and (perhaps strangely to some) i appreciate the academic approach. most vendors try to do strong work. all will find their niche.

Maybe you guys took it too deep against each other...but you both have points and opinions. In my experience, I feel great if a company chooses to beat a price of a competitor when I am standing right there ready to buy. The next time, I might say...nah....I'm just going to go with Company A because I've know John Doe for a long time, and the difference isn't that much. I'm just going to stick with my comfort company this time. But I will say again from the original post....I didn't see it as Scott dragging them down in a bad way...especially with this quote in the post: "They said positive things about wakemakers as their competition, but said they are always happy to beat them."

Any info on the 1433 vs the 1617? I need to pull the trigger. I have the 1579/1465 on there 13.5 X14.25,wish it had bit more umfff and I need a spare. Just not sure if the 1433 will give me anything over the 1579 but I am also concerned with top end. More specifically the RPM's at ski speede 32-34mph with the 1617 since I still take a slalom set here and there.

I put my old 1235 on there and it was way to close for comfort. I can see it being an issue down the road for gel burn. Knowing that I rack up around 100hrs a year it wouldn't be long. However it was a very noticeable jump in the hole shot. I already sold the 1235, so trying to decide what to do here. I just don't think the 1433 is gonna give me enough of a jump to the 1579 I currently have, but the 1617 may be too much upping my RPM's by 300. If I didn't still slalom it be no brainier. I slalomed with no issues on my OG XStar with the 1235, but the 1617 is gonna be bit more aggressive from what I was told on paper. The 1235 was the limit in the Star. I am probably way over thinking this, but no one local stocks the 1617 or 1433 to give it a go with so I am flying blind here.

Knowing that I am 70% wake. 15% Ski and 15% ski I should just pull the trigger on the 1617

Next step towards higher speeds and clearance from the 1235 would be the 1939.

I ran the 1939 on my 247 6.0 with an insane level of ballast... Never got stuck.

I am happy with the upgrade. I think difference between 1433 and 1617 is only like .5 pitch difference which experts say is 100 or 150 rpm. Quite frankly I think for me it is a very good upgrade, but I don't plan on letting anyone ski very fast, as compared to wakeboard speeds. If any one is skiing I will likely be driving and I will just go as fast as I want. If they don't like it they can buy their own boat. lol. But I have 6 guys in my crew and all we do is wakeboard, and surf like 3 or 4 times a year.

The extra power is nice, I am pleased with it. I don't know what my rpm's would be at 32-34 mph, but honestly my gut tells me I would not be comfortable with the rpm's. But probably not any more comfortable or less comfortable with 1433 or 1617.

PS. I guess for me philosophically I wanted a no compromises wake board propeller.

Anymore info on the 1433 or 1617 choice. What did you decide on swatguy. I am in the exact same position and need to figure which one of these to get.

I just pulled the trigger on the 1617 from Nettle. They cut me a deal I couldn't refuse. I hope to have it Tuesday to give s run down by the weekend. I was just sucking down way to much fuel and really was dogging it out of the hole loaded up for boarding. Figure since boarding is our primary mine as well be primed for that.



For anyone with the 1235. I was told by a couple different "prop shops" nettle included the can shave off bit of the 1235 to a 14inch diameter for a fraction of the cost of a new prop. It would run 75-100 to have that done.

The 1235 is the best, tried them all. I have ZERO prop burn with 89 hours on 2012 210.

What is prop burn?

And scottb7 .have you noticed any difference in fuel use going from 1433 to 1617. I know it's not a big factor with boats this price but I'm still interested to know.
