So I have the benefit of having a large enough garage to store my boat inside and it stays warm enough in the winter to not bother with winterizing as well. I do get a bit gun-shy when temps drop below freezing outside, especially for a few days like this week or single digits. I bought a temp/humidity sensor off Amazon a few weeks ago that has connectivity to internet and a monitoring service that will graph the data for you. It also has the capability of setting up alarms that can be sent to you via email or text message. The sensor is wireless, but a "gateway" is plugged into my internet router via CAT5 cable that sends the sensor info to the Lacrosse Alerts data server.

So far it has been very reliable, but there was one day it wasn't pulling info from my sensor. Looks like their server was down for a few hours because my sensor was fine. I did receive an alert telling me there was no data for more than 75 minutes. I have the dry temp probe model, and plan to use it for OAT once I get a new house, but for now I just have it reading garage temp as well. Here is a screen shot from this morning...
You can see the temp is already in alarm because it is lower than my alarm setpoint of 40°F, but the probe temp I have set at 35°F. The graph keeps info displayed for about 1 week prior. Not bad peace of mind for $80 and it's much better than a few water bottles I had sitting in the garage.
