    Good deal on a G21...

I was just at the Roanoke, VA boat show. Webster Marine was there with their whole line of boats. One in particular caught my eye and I thought I would share. They have a 2014 G21 (all white with gray accents inside). It looked pretty loaded. They had a boat show price of $103k on it. I'm not in the market for a G series, but that seemed like a pretty fair price. If interested, I would call Webster Marine (Smith Mountain Lake). http://webstermarine.com

I've got no stake in this. They sold me my 210 last spring and I have had good service so far. Just sharing a good price.

NYRyan, my memory says the trailer was included (but it might be a few thousand more with it). According to the website, it has the 409hp motor in it. I wasn't really shopping, just looking and keeping the relationship with the dealer.

Interesting. It did indeed sound like a great price, so i did the math based on list of items on their site and it came to 22% off retail. Minnesota boat show was 23% off, I think. I assume the trailer was NOT included. If a trailer of $5k was included it would come to 25% off. (Although the link below says "no" trailer.)

That is the only way to price these boats and compare. "percent off retail". My closest dealer is at 13% off retail and will not move. He said if you don't buy it someone else will. Same discount if you order one, because they only have so many they can order and receive.

Wow. While I don't blame them for doing whatever they want, that is quite a rude way of saying it. Obviously 10% extra on approx $120k is $12k. I would be pretty disappointed. As I get closer to buying one I can say for me after seeing the published boat show discounts of 23%, I could NOT bring myself to buying one if I could not get at least get 23% off. Jeez that is a tough one, if they won't do it I would probably get a slightly used one elsewhere.

Kind of bad situation cause you can't buy a new one outside of your salesperson's territory...

Remember, too, that this is a 2014, which means this boat could be up to 1.5 years old already. Most dealers will reduce prices significantly on last year's models.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

It is a 2014. It is probably a little less that 1 year old, I saw it for the first time on the dealer lot in May last year. I bought mine the same way, new in the following year.

For those of you that are in the States and close to the Canadian border it might be worth considering looking up here if you're buying new. I think a lot of the dealers base their prices on what exchange rate they were brought in at so if they've had them in inventory since November or December they would be quite a bit less than a factory order. The exchange rate has gone from ~1.1 to about 1.25 in the last few months.

We just bought a new 2015 G23 with the 450 and almost every option (including trailer) and it was a little more than this one in USD - I think we did get a really good deal though. I have heard that dealers won't sell to you if you live somewhere else though (although I don't know this for sure).

It's funny that a few years ago it was way cheaper for us to buy a boat down there but it seems to be the opposite now (for a short time anyway.)

I think the trailer is a Ram-Lin. Can they be had for 3500-4000 new?

Whether buying new off the showroom floor or ordering out, we've always paid at least 25% off retail. I did get over that once, but that was a special deal on a non-current 196.

From my understanding leftover, previous year models do not fall under territory regulations. Only current year production boats. Maybe it's changed since I sold them but I have not heard otherwise.

As far as MSRP anything around 20% is pretty standard. 23-25 were talking good buddy discount area. Selling boats for years and working countless boats shows, the hardest thing to get people to understand is boat show pricing is limited. Besides end of season closeouts it's usually the best price you are going to get. They mfg and reps are all about adding in freebies and offering special pricing. Those items have a limited time span. You can't always get them later in the season , so expecting to pay boat show prices later on isn't the best comparison.

End of the season pricing is similar to the boat show pricing. Different models will have more or less of a discount depending on availability. Mfg's usually sit down and see what's not selling or what they have left after production and see what they need to move. They will offer special pricing to dealers again but it's usually model specific.

Different dealers have different overhead. The amount of boats ordered by a dealership usually translates to better factory pricing. However smaller dealerships don't need the overhead so they can sometimes offer better deal. There isn't rhyme or reason. Outside of MSRP dealers can price wherever they want and you're kind of stuck. I understand the territory rule, doesn't mean I agree with it, but it's something that's been around for a while. I know of couple dealerships that were actually dinged by Nautique when they got caught.
