If your not getting anywhere with the dealer. I would call customer service in FL and ask them about your missing chip and the dealer wanting to charge for it. Also, look at your invoice and what it says you purchased. Is it detailed enough to show you purchased the system with maps?
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
    2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)

Yes the invoice - specifications sheet lists the data card. Funny you should mention the factory.. I have a tour sent up for next week. Will ask.

Cedar...if he didn't have the chip....do you think it would just show lines and no lake?? Looks like from the screen shot he provided it's tracking the boat movement. Maybe a fine tune adjustment to get the lake to pop in. Show us that lake Nautique !!! lol

Also....on every boat that I have been on with chips to run Nav...an empty plastic holder left for the owner USUALLY...and I say usually....means the chip has been installed in the port on the unit. If it's not in the unit....or the plastic case, I'm sure it was just an oops by the factory or dealer if he/she was responsible for inserting it.

            CarbonC,

I picked up my sons G23 yesterday, the maps were loaded. When your at the factory ask to meet Adam Greer, he is a great guy. My wife and I did the factory tour a few weeks ago and we were able to meet him. He helped me with some firmware updates on my 2014 230. Between Nautique and your dealer they will make this right.

Is the GPS antenna connected? Is your speed correctly listed?

That's what I would assume. It looks like it's tracking via GPS since it's showing his tracking line, but the info is missing for some reason. Seems a call to the factory could help with this or just call a good dealer like N3, Whitelake or Buxton and see if they can walk you through it.

My lake isn't on the Navi maps. It shows just a line on the yellow. I went to another lakes and they all showed up. I bet it is just that the lake is not mapped.

Shockthis...above in one of the posts he said he demoed a G23 on his lake and it showed the lake fine. And it is a big lake. I would think the chips labeled US from Nautique would all be the same up to date data.

I had my factory visit last week in Orlando. It was a good tour, very nice facility. Clean and efficient. I asked a few questions about my issues to the guide, although he did know the factory and the manufacturing processes that were used, he didn't know much about specific product troubleshooting. He said several times "not sure- you need to contact your dealer"

When I returned home, I zoomed out and infact there is data in my unit. Just not my lake (or 3 out of 4 lakes I plan to visit this summer) Funny part is the one lake that I do plan to visit, and is the smallest of all four is in the data base. My home lake is very popular, and heavily developed. Not sure why it's not in the database that is installed. I still could swear my home lake was on the demo G23.

All said and done, the G23 is a great boat, but the nav system is a bust. (at least for my uses)

At least it's your home lake that is not in there. That should be the lake you know best and need the nav the least.

I completely agree. Having the mapping available on my home lake would just be for me to become familiar with the charting / depth maps.

Just crazy though. With the mapping technology that we have today, every puddle should be available on that chip. Having smaller lakes and not the bigger one means someone should go back to the drawing board and get it right. Just like buying a collectors edition of MLB glasses and they are all there except your team....lol.

You would think it would all be on that card. The lake detail is very limited compaiered to say my nav system in my Ram truck. One thing to consider is these boats spend a few years in development before reaching the market. So- brand new older technology.

This was evident on my Tige, trying to buy a sat radio plug in receiver. Discontinued... Weird when it was a brand new boat. Found one used on eBay at the time.
