    Bimini Top

I'm looking into purchasing a custom bimini top for my 96 super sport. How high is your bimini from the floor of your boat? I keep finding different info on this. I guess it is asthetics and whether or not your 6 foot + tall. I don't have a tower on my boat.

Mine is mounted to a tower. I am almost 6' 1". The bimini is angled down in the front. I have to lean my head forward and stoop slightly under the back portion of the bimini(as when I'm entering the driver seat)....but I have to break completely at the waist to go under the front...

I would guess that the back is 5 ft off the floor and the front is 4ft off the floor...but thats just a guess. Just keep in mind the main reason you have the top is to keep out sun...the higher the bimini, the less sun it will block.

You just have to find the fine line between sun coverage and convenience of walking under it. Personally, I'll take the inconveniance of walking under it for the added sun protection.

kluckyss, there is currently a Group Buy going on for Towerbimini tops. Probably worth a call to see if they sell a bimini for boats w/o tower but with a discount.
