Wakeboard racks on a G21\G23

It seems like all the G21s and G23s I see only have 2 racks. I called Roswell and they admit that there really is not another place for a 3rd, or 4th rack. Has anyone found a good place that is accessible (with the bimini installed)? It is crazy that a $100K boat, that carries 12-15 people, can only hold 2 racks...

I don't know if it's crazy but I'll share with you an option. Depends on what types of boards you are trying to store but I find it extremely easy to store extra wakeboards in the passenger storage compartment. For extra surfboards I have seen pockets created on top of the bimini to slide the surfboard in holding two boards.

I get the idea of using the in-boat storage, but that defeats the true purpose of that storage IMO... I would much rather have all my boards up and in racks vs. in the trunks and storage compartments. That stuff, to me, is for coolers, bags, food, etc. etc.

I agree that they need to find a solution for an additional set of racks.

One thing that you could do is add a Z5 bimini. You can store three more boards up there, but it is pricy and certainly has its drawbacks.

Z5=no easy on\off or tower fold down ability... yes there are drawbacks. IMO, this is yet one more example of how boat designers do not actually use boats like the people they sell to. I am an engineer, and in a design review of the new tower, one question should have been... "How do you fit more than2 racks on that tower?" They frankly put the spinner in a bad spot, preventing a rack above or below it.

You absolutely can add additional clamp racks right above the OEM racks.

Someone needs to post up that professional G23 surf video that was out about a year back. I believe they were Roswell's higher end mag swivel racks. But yes it'd not work with a Z5 or Rev10s clamped tight into the corners like I have. OEM bimini and tower speakers it would work.

Well, the Roswell guy went to the shop and tried it and he said the boots will interfere between the two racks.

I'd like to suggest clamping racks for the future models or aftermarket. Malibu, Mastercraft and Supra offer these. I almost went with MC because of this.

I think it depends on the extent of interference as to whether that's workable. If the boots from boards on one rack hit the second rack, then that's a bit of a problem. If it's just that the boots a loaded rack hit boots on the other loaded rack, then it's not a big deal.

On my 210 with Titan tower, I had two (fixed) racks in addition to the OEM swivel racks and the boots interfered. If top and bottom rack are both loaded with boards/boots, I could offset the boards in the rack to get everything to fit (and lose the ability to swivel). This was only an issue with greater than 6 boards with boots because with 6 boards I could put two in the top slot of the upper rack--avoiding the interference issue with the OEM swivel racks. Not a big deal for me as I think I've only had more than 6 boards w/boots one time.
