2006 Perfect Pass is no good for wakeboarding

2006 Nautiques have a Perfect Pass system that does not have a driver speed assist function. For the first time in 4 years, I have run wake contests with Perfect Pass off. Wakeboarders and wakeboard boats need the driver speed assist function! I have notified PP of my displeasure towards the current system and hope that the driver speed assist function returns in 2007. To make sure that PP gets the message, please email them and urge them to return the function.

what is the driver speed assist function? Do you mean just being able to give it some gas and then have PP back it down slowly to speed? This is due to CC using TBW for their throttles, it was seen as an upgrade... Don't you feel that PP is much smoother now?

The driver speed assist function allows you to change the throttle to increase/decrease speed - PP will then bring it back to setpoint. Pre 2006 systems have allowed this. This is particularly useful when you need to slow the boat for a short moment ( when a person asks you to go past a slider slow for a short period) or gas a loaded boat for a tight turn. As we all know there is a special art to driving double ups (especially on tight rivers) and driver throttle assistance is essential to reduce the possibility of chime lock and double up speed errors - especially in a loaded boat. Straight line driving is OK, but I won't go into how optimised control loop tuning settings (NN kdw) need to be changed each time you have changed boat load condition. PP have indicated that they are considering the return of the function for 2007, I just want to make sure that it does.

I agree, you need to be able to apply some extra throttle here and there especially when driving double ups
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

            I agree, it's really annoying.

i changed the paddlewheel and kdw settings so that the system would drop out for double ups (but it would also drop out on tight corners). but if you want to overtake somebody when wakeboarding the throttle is useless.

what I would like to see is a system that you can toggle between all modes quickly. say from wake mode to rpm mode when u want to drive a double up or turn it off to pass a few slower boats.

i will email them, but i'm stuck with the 06 unit...

Is this the throttle override feature? I checked mine and it was set at off.

Do you really drive double ups with perfect pass on? I have always had trouble with the perfect pass trying to compensate to much. I use perfect pass for the run and then turn it off for the double up and then back on for the run. It is way easier to drive the double up without having to fight perfect pass. Some things are just better done the old fashioned way.

Is this how the Perfect Pass should work?

Just got my 06 210 Air. never used PP in the past. the dealer told me that one of the good things in the new PP is that you can turn it on while driving (no need to slow down). problem is that when i turn PP on while driving, the boat slows down to a halt.
                    any ideas?

                    thanks,

ah, your dealer has no idea what he's talking about.

The old perfect pass you could turn on while driving. I have 2002 SANTE and I turn it on and off all the time while driving without problems. Take it in and make them fix the problem

How? Mine requires it to be in neutral for the slack in the throttle to be correct.

until 06 you had to drop the boat back to the neautral position for the perfect pass to function. It would turn on whilst driving but not work. The 06 perfect pass can be turned on and function normally whilst moving. (good for those time you forget to turn it on and you dont want to drop the rider in the water)

You are talking about the Digital Pro model, right!? Is the Wakeboard Pro model missing the "driver assist" feature also?
