Its Common Knowledge that the 230 out surfs the G Boats??

After some research this is what I am seeing. I hope to demo both soon. Please join the discussion. Please include all biased and unbiased opinions. I want to hear it all! If you got pics and videos even better!

You will figure it out when you demo them. My thoughts, the 230 looks better and a little longer but the G23, not as clean but much bigger and just more fun to ride.

I had both a 2011 230 and a 2013 G23 and have to say that I prefer the G23 wake. It is also much easier to get a nice wake and still have plenty of room everywhere in the boat.
I guess that it is just personal...

This is a great thread... The G boats are all hyped up and might look cooler etc, but I am finding the 230 surfs better too. Glad I have a 230.

For what it's worth, you will want to compare a 2014+ 230 to a G when it comes to surfing or at least one with NSS. Otherwise, the ease of generating a great wave in a G vs a 230 without NSS in my opinion will always make the G win. I've been in both and prefer my 230. To be honest, I was underwhelmed with the G surf wave based on what I know my 230 is capable of. Maybe my expectations were too high?

Some say yes, others say no... if you really wan't to know it... you have to test both boats and surf the wave ;-).

Wow a couple of people posting from Switzerland....the comparison has to be based on NSS. The weather has been terrible, so demos have been limited.

it was not my G21, it had two sacs - one one the floor and one on the rear seats, I don't know the size of the sacs. 4 lightweight Adults ;-) on the boat when i was surfing..

The G surf wave is just terrible lol. My first post on PN I was ridiculed as stupid for buying a G for a surf boat, anyone remember? Duh, everyone knows those are only 22-24mph pro wake boats. Man, I should have listened. I really regret it lol.

Also, I know better than to try I convince a newer boat owner he doesn't have the best wave avail. XXX is the best because they sell the most so it must be true. YYY has pros wearing bro shades with cool names and stoner accents so they must be legit. YYY nailed it.

All I'm gonna say is this: It's all fun and games till he gets on a G for a day dialed in. Don't really care to convince anyone of anything, decide for yourself. Beyond just the wave performance is the REST of the boat that matters. Service and warranty matters. QAQC matters. The Gs do everything to a very high level. Game over.

At some point it is possible to get to a point where you stop even considering a new boat. I am 100% convinced I have the best all around big wakeboat on the market.

For kids and beginners, OEM ballast is plenty. For adults keep 2-400lbs lead in the bow and an additional 500-750 on the surfside. Bring the speed up to 11.4 - 11.8 because you have a lot more wave to work with. Dial in the wave shape, height and length with NSS and NCRS and let it rip.

Ive owned a 2011 230 and now have 2013 G23. the 230 can produce an amazing wave, requires a ton of weight. my G has a fantastic wave with stock ballast plus 500 lbs of lead ballast. everyone that rides the G says its better than my previous boat.
