The buzz you are hearing when the volume is turned down is more than likely one of the amps not being tuned correctly. This is usually a gain issue and can be adjusted out by the owner on the amp. If the buzz grows louder as the volume is increased with motor running this is likely a ground issue.

will there be + - adjustment for the gain on each amp? something that the owners can do themselves?

For what its worth, the buzz/hum could only be heard with volume at a very low level or zero or with stereo muted. And this was with engine completely off so it wasn't engine noise. I don't remember the amps having any sort of adjustments on them (i.e. for gain +/-). It was also happening no matter what input was selected (bluetooth, radio, USB, etc)

Hopefully if you are lucky NyRyan will weigh in as he has a really good "amp tuning for dummies" advise that I have referenced for a long time. Not sure what controls you have on your amps but they are all for the most part the same. The gain maybe be called a level control as well as a high and low pass settings, etc. But, I guarantee each amp has the controls on them for adjustment, and since what you describe as the situation I am willing to bet the hiss is generated via one or both amps or a line controler/ equalizer (ie WS420) if you have one installed.

I dont have near the stereo knowledge base as some folks on here... But there are some basics that most always apply.

First, If you have an OEM stereo, and you have bad hiss or hum, you need to start wi a warranty claim back to your dealer. You might have a grounded RCA for example like I had on my 2013. It would go nuts anytime the NSS was activated... Somehow they are connected through a grounded out RCA and a common panel. If it's something else, your dealer can outsource the warranty work to a stereo expert to hunt down the problem and fix it, my dealer did that for me. $100 outsourced to a stereo expert is well spent compared to a stereo semi-novice potentially creating more faults.

If you have an aftermarket stereo or additions... Or plan on getting them installed.... 100% demand an WATER demo BEFORE you accept the boat back to verify: in the water, with engine, pumps, blower, depth finder, NSS etc etc etc running you have no noticeable noise or issues... Check all accessories and functions. Notice I said IN WATER and not on the trailer.... And the hose on the trailer doesn't count.

Now if you're DIY, or partial DIY low rent guy like me and you have issues, you gotta start with ensuring ALL and I mean ALL stereo components have the exact same + and - point. To include the Head unit, EQ or line drivers, all amps etc etc. also disconnect the S-Video cable from the Linc that connects to the Head unit to rule that out, it draws its power from another location and CAN introduce noise, it did on my 2013.

Austintx, cool story. I too am a very happy Sail & Ski customer.Currently on my third Nautique, a '14 G23 which by the way is almost identical to yours in paint scheme other than a black hull rather than white. Nautique is certainly as good as it gets, but in our case we are lucky enough to have a dealership which is also first class. Although I haven't had the issues you have had, the few problems which have popped up have always been addressed quickly and correctly. Everyone, Sales, Service, Parts, and Retail are awesome. I've had other models, Malibus (3), and the experience was far less impressive. This is not only the boat, but the folks who stand directly behind the boat. Hope to see you on the water, (Lake Austin).

Hey Thomas, nice to meet you and glad to hear about your experience with Sail and Ski. The issues we've had have been handled so quickly and professionally that I literally haven't given them much thought.

We actually were on Lake Austin as well for a few years in Blue Sky boat club but when we purchased our boat we couldn't find a 25' slip anywhere on Lake Austin unfortunately. So now we're out at Lake Travis (West Beach Marina) and have been really happy out there the past 6 months. Far less crowded on Lake Travis and a nice large sandy beach for our little one to play on. Maybe one day we'll be back on Lake Austin if we can ever find a slip.
