Modification of the Z5-Bimini (G21)

Well, my G21 has the Z5-Bimini and ok, it looks great but it has some drawbacks i don't like.
First, Z5 and Wakeboard Racks, they don't love each other when you have wakeboards in the racks. Maybe i'm the only one, but ok, not a big deal ;-).
Second, the storage.. i want to store two surfboards on the Bimini. But the Z5, the one i have, is not really made for it. So i'm thinking to make some modification, something that you can easy store the surfboards on the Z5.. well, easier then it is at the moment.

Have you done any modification on the Z5? Or have you good ideas?

On mine, the racks won't spin in all the way because they hit the Z5. I have heard that the solution is to flip the racks over. I am going to try that soon.

As for surf boards on the Z5, I had three on my Z5 the other day without issue.

Oh, upper 40's... Air was close to 50 by the time we came off the water. This was 7 days ago. Water has warmed up a bit now. I didn't get in that day (I just sat in the heated driver's seat), but I am planning to take my first boat set of the year tomorrow!

Jeff, what are water temps this weekend? Looks like your getting some warm air M-W this week. My family is on spring break the first week of April, what are normal lake temps at that time?

I can't believe those kids got in with the water temps in the fortys with just a wet suit! That is great. I think I would need a drysuit till at least 60 degrees.

I was in the water today with a 2mm wetsuit. Water temps are up to mid- to upper-50's now. One guy was in with no wetsuit today.

In another two weeks, if we keep getting the warm weather we've been having, the water should be 60 - 65 I would guess.

I've done this on my 230 with the Z5. Even when you flip the racks you won't be able to swivel the racks in if you have a wakeboard with boots up in the top rack so just keep that in mind. I've also stored 3 surf boards up top. It just depends how big and wide the boards are...
