I have to say that I am very pleased with my '99 SNOB 196, but I also have to make one comment after reading this post: $60K is a lot of money for a boat, and I think well worth expecting a superb working machine. If any of us bought a BMW new for $60K, and the next day re-wiring, reconnecting hoses and tightening up loose fittings, I think we would all be more than p.o.'d. Shouldn't our expectations be the same from a new CC?

One other thing that I'll remind everyone of (and I am not trying to make excuses here) is that Correct Craft has made a few changes in management recently in their Quality Services and Manufacturing areas. They are in an adjustment period right now, and hopefully the new managers will be implementing some sort of new quality checks soon.

wow, im amazed that so many people will accept a less-than-par machine. its not like were spending 5k-10k on a machine here, rather upwards around 40-70k. im sorry but if i was fortunate enough to afford a new nautique i sure wouldn't accept one that's less than **** near pefect. thats like me taking my truck home from the dealership and the next day re wiring it, and "replumbing" the hvac system on it. i dont think so, not after spending a huge chunk o' change on her! PDT_033 i guess sometimes, somepeople just like pissing into the wind!

One thing that I think stands a company out from the rest is not how they handle their boats pre-purchase, but how they handle their customers post-purchase. In other words, I may accept a few "sub-par" things wrong with our boat, but what I won't accept is a bad dealership and service. If my dealer and company (CC) wants me to be a loyal fan and truely think they're the best **** boat maker in the world, they'll have to earn it in my books. The real test will be how CC and your dealer resolves this situation--that will set CC apart from the comp.

Take it one step furthur yourself. Your dealer can only do so much on his own, and he still has his own life and other troubles to deal with. To help the ball get rolling a bit, make some more phone calls, and talk to some people "higher up." Give a call to your regional manager, your regional office, all orders go through them first. Then maybe take it down to Orlando, and give them a call. I know I would normally say give Jeff Warner a call, but he's not there, and I can't remember who took his place... Like N-Jeff said, the guys you really need to talk to in Orlando are in a tough time at the moment, so you kinda are having all sorts of curve balls thrown at you. Just think of it like this... Dealer ---> Regional Manager ---> Orlando. Don't give up..

This BMW/Mercedes vs. CC isn't valid at all. Compare boats to boats and cars to cars.

                    Reastwood,

This is NOT acceptable no matter how GREAT your dealer is.

With that many write ups, I would call the factory immediately and expect them to explain to me how this boat ever left the plant - new management or old management!

Spending 60k on a boat is outragous enough, but to have problems like the ones described(especially throttle) in unacceptable. The factory should spend a little more time checking quality and performance before shipping the product.

Friend of mine had an 02 Ski delivered, 1st time on the water would not start. It was a cracked neg battery cable end. Small issue, but the checkout sheet that was with the boat indicated it had been checked.

Love CC but they do have their problems. I agree that the dealer should resolve issues, but I would be POed if I had to take a brand new boat back several times to get it right.

Sure compair cars to cars and boats to boats, but piss-poor workmanship is never acceptable.

Wiring that works, but is not the neatest is unfortunatly industry standard in the marine industry.

Components falling off or just not working, is not industry standard.

But for 60,000, we should be changing the industry standard to first rate workmanship from the factory, and not at a dealer level.

Hollywood I wasn't really comparing the Mercedes to the C.C. I was comparing value to value. What kind of quality for the money. If C.C. claims to constructing such a high quality machinethen they need to back it up with a high quality machine. I'm sure that in many cases that what they have produced but in my case I feel like so many things have been overlooked.

Totally agree. Your case is one if not the worst one I've heard of. Hopefully everything will get worked out.

Even broken upside down, the custom throttle CC uses looks 10 X cooler than the bolt-on morse units that some competitors still use! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Are CC dealers required to deliver boats in the water or is it a individual dealer thing? My last one was delivered in the water and am hoping the new one will be. If not I will ask for someone to take a spin with me.

I am picky about quality and could be forgiving on a couple things but do expect to get what I pay for. If I was willing to put up with some of the issues I've seen on posts in the last 8 months I'd buy a less expensive boat. An on the water delivery would help work some of these things out. At least it did on my last one. Didn't accept it until it was right adn had another on the water to test it.
