Slip Renting/Ownership

LP was down in 2011 quite a bit but tends to fill up quickly. People around here are worried about losing water to the city and not being able to use their personal slips and having a lake that can no longer be used. I don't know all of the facts but water rights in Texas are going to be a big deal.
I don't have a boat right now but hope to get one in the next year or two.
Our local dealer has a nice 2014 G23 for 117k range.
I love VRBO and actually stayed at Cedar Creek a couple of years ago that way.

I rented a slip at chandlers for two summers. I think they are now under new management but thought I would share a couple things.

First off is theft- it happens more than you think and there are some things you can do to prevent. At Chandlers specifically, thieves would enter the marina by boat and dock at the very end and go boat to boat grabbing whatever they could, however they wouldn't touch boats near the gate or closer to shore. I was in the second slip from the gate and never had a problem with my stereo. So make sure you have a slip that's somewhat close to the gate. Also, they would hit docks that had the lights out. Happened all the time at chandlers where half the lights would go out and the thieves could work in the dark so if you ever see issues with the lights call the office.
With regards to my slip I mounted two fans blowing down into the boats. Made a huge difference when cleaning or loading in the heat. I also purchased a used refrigerator online and kept it at the end of the walkway near the back of the slip. Was always nice to keep beer ice and water cold! Lastly, I built a deck in the front of the slip which I can post pics if interested. With the deck I asked for forgiveness rather than permission and it was not an issue.
