    Pro ballast question

I'm looking at upgrading my 2012 210 to a 2015 210. I want to put my 750 sacs and bow sac in instead of the pro ballast bags. My dealer is asking if we can order without pro ballast and install my current bags. What would I be losing by not having pro ballast?

I could be wrong, but I think the "pro ballast" option is just adding the piggy-backed sacs to the already in place hard tanks. Basically you would loose whatever weight is in the sacs. (300# I think) I'm not completely sure a 750 sac would fit in the space full. I know the storage bins wouldn't fit with that size sac.

I don't think you'd lose anything, except space in your wallet, by keeping some coin. It doesn't hurt to have a larger bag in smaller places. In fact, I prefer it. It will get just as full as the "made to fit" bags, but won't put as much stress on the hinges, because it won't have as much pressure. Just my $0.02.

Go with the Pro ballast setup, its a great system, storage trays are handy, won't warp your engine boards, and resale will be better. When you're already spending the dime for a new boat, that option price shouldn't be a consideration.

This has nothing to do with the cost of pro ballast. I will get a better surf wake by replacing the 300lb sacs with the 750lb sacs. I haven't heard anything about warping engine boards. It doesn't on my 2012 210 but I also don't have the side hard tanks.

It doesn't matter anyway. I just decided today that I won't be purchasing a new boat. I still love to slalom and they took away the pop up pylon and force you to attach down at the handle just above the platform. That is way too low to attach. Completely horrible design on Nautiques part.
