The other post about buyers remorse made me want to post up my thoughts, and see if anyone had anything to offer. I've got a really nice 206, and its just about perfect for our lifestyle, except that I'd really like to be skiing behind a 200. I can afford a used 200, and have a buyer for our 206. I cant find a 200 that I have that feeling about...you know the feeling that this is an awesome boat, and I want it. I've looked at several, and they are nice, but just ok. There always seems to be something that doesn't make me want to go WOW about it.
I found a reasonable priced 200 3 hours away, but the trailer is junk, it lives on a lift, and he has a ramp in his yard, so the trailer is just to go from his garage to his yard 2 x per year. The boat also sat in the water for 2 months before he pulled it out, and overall isn't clean and wouldn't be what I would present to buyers to sell if it were mine. I can pick up a new Boatmate trailer for a reasonable price, but its just another detail to work out.
Ski 200 # 2 is nice colors, promo with 300 hours, never titled, but has a nasty scratch in the progressive decals- about 2' long. WTH? I'd rather have gauges over the Link that is has, even though it seems like a cool set up, just not sure that touchpads will be trustworthy / functional after the occasional rainstorm and 10 years usage.
My only other issue, is just how family friendly is the 200? We ski early mornings on the course with friends and the kids, then go back and pick up the family and hang out ALL day on fri/sat and sundays. We usually end up eating dinner at one of the marinas and then its evening/night cruising then home after dark.
Any thoughts or your similar experience would be welcome.
