MC X-Star vs SANTE 230 mid 2000s editions

So, after 11 months of no boat ownership, I'm pleased to be back in the market. My last boat was a 2004 Super Air Nautique 210 and this time around I'm hoping to go a little bigger and get a little more surf friendly.

I'd would really like to get some first hand feedback about likes/dislikes, differences between these 2. I'm not in a spot where I can ride behind both back to back.

With my SANTE we carried 400lbs of lead always, stock ballast and when surfing we added a 750 fat sac. Ideally I'd like to get a wakeboard wake that is as good as the old SANTE (maybe a little more transition) and a more surf-able boat.

Any info would be super helpful

04 Super Air 210 Team Edition Ex343- Loved that boat

The 230 is going to have way more room, have way more storage, drive better , and surf better than the XStar. The wake shape as Willy mentioned is a factor. You mention surf and if you're considering any type of surf session with regularity the 230 hands down wins in this comparison all day any day.

The series X Star you mention I think is the sexiest boat on the water. It's an absolute wakeboarding beast. One of my all time favorite. There is not a single person that is going to say it won't out wakeboard the 230. It's a legend........ The down side is the cabin is cramped for its size. The bow when weighted with the pickle can be sketchy.

As far as quality both boas are exceptional. However I think Nautique was bit more refined in the era you're mentioning. With all that said. There is not another boat on the market that has a wake even close to the pop and steepness of that 99-06 SANTE. So thinking you're going to get the pop and feel of that wake on any boat will be next to impossible.
