Sport Nautique (94) vs. SAN (99-05) Surf Wake

I just sold my Sport Nautique (94) and plan on looking for something v-drive. I loved the Sport, but wife wants the wrap around seating (mainly for the kids). I had a lot of trouble getting a port side surf wake out of the Sport. Has anyone gone from a Sport to a SAN? I'm curious if the surf wake is any better. I realize both are RH props, so that won't help the SAN. The hull's are similar, but slightly different. I'd like to get a 2007+ SAN, but spending in the 20's is a better argument than the 40's.

I have found it very surfable. This was my very first attempt to surf a SAN hull and only my second time to surf behind anything. I've improved it some, but it was fine right from the start.

750 in the locker and 400 in the center under the floor.

Surroundsound64, It looks like you have it dialed spot on!! I have a 2002 SS and my surf wake is horrible. I have 400lb in each vdrive compartment and 250lb in the ski locker and nothing in the bow. I was told to add weight up front. They suggested 50/50 ratio between the front and back.

You just need more weight. Switch those 400s for some 750s and get at least a 400 if not a 600 for the center and you will be golden. I will probably add a sack under the bow for this year. When I put an adult or 2 up front the wave just gets longer which is great.

SS64, I just purchased 2 750lbs sacs. I was wondering which prop are you using? I believe I have the stock prop, its a 13.5x17.5. I'm planning to have 1500lb in the rear, 250lb in the ski locker and 800lb up front. Will this work?

I was happy with the stock prop I had... or what I think was stock, but when I tore it up last memorial day at Possum Kingdom when the marina owner told me where the deep water was, and then I hit a concrete mooring pillar, I had to get another one. Let me verify, but I think it was a 1578. Talk about hole shot. Good grief, it's stout. Definitely going to lose some top end though.
