I thought I would share a simple modification I did yesterday to the observer seat on my SNOB 200. For a while I have noticed that the seat back has a slight bow where the gas strut attaches. I remove the strut for winter storage but the other day I noticed that the seat back is highly stressed and bows right where the strut is attached when the seat it raised. It is had to see here, but this is the stock set-up. (Edit: After posting ths photo I realized that I have a tread to trim from the seat back...its going to drive me nuts all day while I am at work!!!)

I used a small piece (12" long) of aluminum angle it to reinforce the seat back and distribute the load from the strut. It is held in by the original bracket screws and one additional screw (stainless) added at the end. Overall, it was a very simple mod and one I should have done when I bought the boat.
