Should finish it up very soon. Needed: new motor; refreshed trans and v-drive; new steering cables; new "peach-fuzz;" new seat shocks/compartment rings; new prop shaft; new stereo; new pumps/water lines; middle windshield - basically one of everything. The tower (and roswell speakers painted to match) were just an added bonus. Tower is now removed/being finished for paint (I'm fixing all the weld imperfections before spraying it). Have the new chromax decals for the side as well.

Well, buying our new house/selling our old one, plus Child #3 being born has stalled my project. I have a deadline of 10/14 (going to Cumberland for a kid's Halloween event) so I'm back in boat mode. Installed the strut/trans/v-drive and new motor this weekend. Last week wired all the new led cupholders and Seablaze X lights out the back. Tower is at the paint booth now (they already painted the black half of my Roswell horn monos blue to match the boat).

Here are a few. The photo of the actual boat is when it was pulled in the shop during a thunderstorm - so you cannot see the faded gelcoat. I spent many, many hours (and then some) fixing the gouges and wet sanding. I've repaired/painted quite a few cars - so wet sanding on gelcoat was relatively easy (except for the shear size). See the corrosion on the motor/trans. The mounts were rusted through. There is literally not one thing we have not replaced or completely rebuilt. It's a great project - at the end I will have a brand new boat for a very reasonable price, and I have the peace of mind knowing every bolt on the boat, and knowing it's put together right.6 Photos

All I can say is Wow! That was a massive project! You must have gotten that boat very cheap to be in it for a very reasonable price at this point. Man that boat was really negelected. Was it in salt water? Great work reviving the boat!2007 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV, 1995 Cobalt 200

The boat was serviced by White Lake Marina (when it was serviced). The wealthy owners' children destroyed it (so I'm told). I just can't believe someone would mistreat such a purchase - regardless of income.
I bought it for a great (but appropriate) price off the guy next in line who was in over his head. I don't think it sat in water (no water lines) but it was definitely used in either brackish or salt water. I think it sat on a lift for years and eroded (the trailer is in great shape). Also it was stored about a mile from the beach.
The original owners put serious money in repairing it in 2010 and, based on White Lake's receipts noting the engine hours, it wasn't used after that. If I had to pay for labor I'd be in it double it's worth - but thankfully I work cheap and my family owns an auto repair shop!
