    Noahsark--

You are experiencing what I call "analysis paralysis"s and I have put myself in this position many times over the years.

It's time to move away from the computer, call the dealer and demo a few boats. They can find you a G21 to test drive and any other model even if they do not have one onsite. Trust me.

I think you hit it on the Head JoeA !!!!! Lol I appreciate all of the responses and opinions, but yes I will test drive a 230 and G21 in the very near future.

Then I should be able to answer my own needs.

      Thanks

Noahsark.....just to answer one question from above....Yes the electronic shifting is "better" in the 15 compared to the 14. Some say noticeably, some say just a tad better....but better than the previous years.

This is starting to get tedious...everyone has told you the 230 will cruise better, now you are waxing on about depth in the bow...but wait, you want to boat to surf, board, ski? And you haven't even demoed one of them yet...but you are rich so the purchase price is irrelevant...?

I feel our input is wasted here. Demo them and buy the one you like the best, just plop it on your black AMEX no big deal.

Listen, go demo a MC X30. It'll cruise, surf, handle, and most importantly, has a much deeper bow than the 230. The 23LSV will also do all these things better.

Make a list of what is important to you and refer to it when you go demo. Assuming the extra 15-20k is not a problem and wakeboarding/surfing are your top priorities, get the G21/23. If cruising and hanging out including running faster than 25-30 regularly are top priorities, then get the 230. If money is an issue, then it's just a matter of deciding if the G series is worth it to you for the additional features and generally better and easier to manage wake. WRT skiing, forget it. Both boats will make you wish you bought something else.

I'd suggest forgetting about ( 1 ) freeboard, bow depth, etc, as a safety issue. People aren't falling out of 230s. That's a blatant red herring in this context. ( 2 ) Depreciation--you'll take a hit on both and, at the end of the day, it will be similar (...perhaps a little more for the G even if the rate of depreciation is less). My guess: other costs of ownership will dominate the difference in depreciation between these two boats.

AcerMD...Yeah....it might be getting a little tedious....to you...but buying these boats is sometimes an emotional decision because you want to end up with the correct end product. Sometimes people have hundreds of questions about these boats, and sometimes very few. Someone might come on here and ask...."I'm getting a G....which engine should I get. Go with the 409 vs the 343....boom....done..he buys the boat. I think that this is what these forums are for. Everyone needs or wants different levels of input. One day Noah will be on here telling other potential buyers what is good and not good about his boat. Nothing wrong with that. Plus...he already said why he wants a Nautique !!!

I don't disagree, but there is something not entirely genuine about this whole scenario...if his dealer is so great, why is he here like a panicked fish-out-of-water? His dealer doesn't have a G21?

He also bounces around his priorities. Either way, though CC makes a killer boat, there are some other brands that meet his needs better, if that is off the table, then clearly manufacturer is the most important thing for him (fair enough). Then there is a string of reasons, all very dubious, about why he hasn't bought a boat yet, but he doesn't mean to brag but money is no object...

At any rate, my bet is he doesn't buy either boat.

The G21 and 230 are two VERY different boats. Why is this so polarizing for him?

Does anyone else feel like there is something rotten in the state of Denmark?

Wow AcerMD, whats your problem? You don't like my questions or inquires don't answer them. Never bragged about my finances or wealth at all. Just had a few people in other post tell me to understand I was looking at expensive boats and just make sure I knew that, so I thought I would mention that since I have sold my old boat and been putting away savings from my housing business I'm in the stance of being able to afford either one a 230 or G series, sorry if that offends you, but was trying to make sure no one thought that was swaying my decision one way or the other. Oh well

Bet I won't buy either one? How much? I'm not a betting man but I'll take that bet. Have no idea about a Black AMEX, so I'll leave that smart answer for you to smile with.

Brag about my dealer? When? For your info and I've stated before I live no where close to a dealer. I'm 3 hours from the dealer I met at the boat show, so it's not been an easy thing with the way the weather has been and last few weekends to make arrangements to test drive the 230 and no he doesn't have a G21 in stock. You want his number to check that out?

I could give you many reasons why I quit looking at MasterCrafts but it's none of your business. I personally do not like the looks of Malibu boats period, from interior, to dash layout, etc. PLUS they don not have a walk through feature from the platform and that's a must for my wife and me! I know from personal experience how you can wear out the sunpad and seats constantly climbing in and out of a boat.

I'm sure once I get to take my test drives I'll know what works for me, but it was nice getting opinions and different ideas before that happens. Helps me make a much better decision. I never even hinted that I was rich or anything to that subject, YOU made that up in your mind ! I clearly said this was a BIG purchase for me, and that I will look at every senario I can before I pull the trigger. You think of me what you want, it doesn't bother me at all, I answer to my maker and that is all I have to worry about.

What has been dubious about why I haven't bought a boat? Do a weather search and see what kind of a winter we had here in Northern VA this past winter. That alone held up my building and closings. I mentioned we have a Family issue plus two of my neices are expecting babies this summer? Is that Dubious? Please enlighten me "ole noble one on where I have been dubious?

I've read where quite a many people on here have bought Nautiques and never did I "question their financial status", why do you? Jealousy?

I could care less about what is rotten in Denmark as I live in Winchester VA, and I do have enough money to buy you a plane ticket if you'd like to meet me in person or see my boat when I buy it? Up for that?

Too everyone else who has put up with my questions, THANK YOU I truly do appreciate it !! I'm sorry I'm old school, and I just want to make sure I have every detailed covered as I begin to make this purchase.

                  Thanks again

As an owner of a 2015 230, I would not recommend spending the extra money on a 2015 over a 2014 just for the electronic throttle. It is a slight improvement, but the other setup wasn't bad once you spent a couple hours getting used to it. If you can find a 2014 you like, save the extra money for gas, beer and other toys. I would recommend you get a surf pipe. I would also recommend upgrading the rear pro ballast package to 750's from the 400's that are included. The 750's will work with the trays, and they make a huge improvement when surfing. Also keep in mind that ordering a boat may take 4-6 months before it comes in. We ordered ours in early August and it didn't arrive until late January.

Which dealer are you going through? Both Bill's and Poplar Pointe (which are the two I would think you'd be working with) have a G21 in stock according to their websites.

seveet, Thanks! I see where there is a thread on here about the paint coming off the board racks, and I noticed that is changed on the 2015 model also, as nautique has different surface on all 2015 models.

You hit one of my problems right on the head. The dealer Ive been talking to has a 2014 230 with only 34.8 hrs on it. But I would want to add underwater lights, Nav, and a surf pipe, and stereo upgrades. He has a 2015 230 in stock that has all of the things I just mentioned (except a big stereo), for 10K more but it is all black on the bottom of the hull and I really don't want that. He says he has two more coming in and he can make me pretty much the same deal and both of them are white on the bottom.

So its "used 2014 slightly used 230" or a new 2015 230. Nautique also says the LED lights are brighter on the 2015 models?

I doubt if I would order one as I have found quite a few 2015 230's all over the states, I might just have to travel. Those guys at N3 Boatworks have been a real help to me, I might end up buying something from them?

With our vacations in a little bit of a dilemma right now for this year, I most likely will go out and look at a lot of my options. I have a good friend that has a hauling business so getting one delivered to me shouldn't be a problem if I have to go very far away to find out what I like in stock.

                          Thanks for the info

One more thing seveet, Do those "shocks" on the bimini struts help a lot when your folding your tower down? A video on N3boatworks shows how it works and acts like it's a nice new feature.

                              Noahsark--

Any decent dealer or marine stereo shop can add underwater LEDs so no big deal. I added Lifeforms (aftermarket) to my G23 and I can turn them on and of from the Linc console.

Relationships---Very important thing. I would encourage you to buy the boat from the dealer that will service the boat unless it is a used boat. If you buy used get the warranty officially transferred which will cost a few dollars to do this, then introduce yourself you preferred dealer. You're going to need service and questions will arise that your dealer can help with.

I look forward to hearing how the search goes. I DO think you'll have a boat on hand by Labor Day at the latest.

NautiqueJeff, I've been talking to Chessie Marine as they were the ones who were at the boat show I went to. A member on here led me to Webster Marine which used to have a 2014 G21 but have sold it now.

Where are the two you mentioned? Chessie is in MD about 3 hrs from me, Webster is close to Smith Mountain Lake about 2.5 hrs from me

                                Thanks
