These bubbles, when you get an edge opened up will peel completely away from the steel and then if exposed to moisture will peel away in sheets. If there are areas where it is clearly bubbled and there is no finish removed from the edge, they should clearly know this is a failed coating.

On a side note, it sounds as if your dealer is stepping up and helping you to get this covered under warranty if at all possible. Kudos to them
Here is the pic with arrows pointing to the bubbles, you can see there are no chips, dings, dents, ect...
After speaking with the owner this morning, I think they are stepping up for sure.

This really sucks. I feel bad for your predicament and hope the dealer comes through.

A friend owns a powder coating business. They coated some cast aluminum chairs and tables for me where the original coating had broken down and was flaking off like crazy. They suggested a powder primer before applying the final powder coating and thorough sand blasting. Said it should last 10 years where just PC would only w/o primer last 2 or 3. I followed her advice and had them primer and they've been bullet proof. I live a few blocks from the ocean and the furniture gets hit with my sprinklers every few days, too. No sign of the coating breaking down after 4 years.
If they won't take care of it, I'd work with a local powder coating shop to get them done properly.

Yes, I exaggerated about being submerged in salt. Apologies to anyone who took me literally. I really can't fathom that they wouldn't warranty after 60 hours and 10 months.

Eventually, if the dealer or CC won't help you get satisfactory resolution, I would certainly encourage you to factually disclose the good bad and ugly about them; maybe just for the benefit of a future buyer. I've owned 3 correct crafts and think they make a great product. Still, I've never bought a new one. It seems an incredible shame that one would spend $100k+ for an item to be used in harsh environments (fresh water is still harsh in my view), with a warranty that they won't allow you to invoke.

Frankly, it shocks me that they start with the stance that you: 1. didn't care for it citing "garden variety corrosion" or 2. damaged it with a board.

The ill will they create with this stance seems to far exceed what they stand to make with an ongoing happy customer. How much could it really cost to resolve on their side? They could be completely re-powder coated for a few hundred $.

I'm a small business person and work very hard to keep my clients happy. In the event of an issue, I go above and beyond to make things right. Maybe I have a skewed perspective.

      GOOD LUCK!

      Doug

Call correct craft and speak to Larry Bush. Explain the situation in detail to him maybe email some photos over. My guess is that if anyone can help he would be your guy

I can say openly that my dealer wouldn't hesitate to correct an issue for me so I agree with above post that your dealer needs to push a bit harder as well

It does not matter if it is chipped off from a board hitting it. Go back up and read my original post in this thread....They told me that my seats had tears because people stood on them. I said so what, give me new seats anyways, as there is nothing in warranty that says not covered for that. It is basically bumper to bumper for the warranty period unless specifically excluded.

Props to nautique for 2 items: 1. Consistency they have for a long time had very bad warranty customer service. 2. They don't discriminate. They don't care if you bought their cheapest boat or most expensive they treat you bad.

The good news is that eventually if you keep pushing you will get new ones. The bad news: the replacements won't be any better made. So it is basically a pain in the *** for nothing.

Even true in my case. Ask around how many people have their white vinyl turn pinkish and discolored from inside out. No matter how dry you keep your boat or whatever. They just buy cheap vinyl and then blame the user. Buy cheap products and then blame the user. Oh, sounds like your story.

The original vinyl did not turn pink even after 6 years, the new vinyl turns pink in less then 1 year.

After all my bashing let me tell you why I own my 210: for the clean wake, and all the rear facing seating.

I Actually took a video of the sides of all of my wakeboards and surf boards to show my dealer that there was no damage.
My point was that if I hit the rack hard enough to blow past the thick rubber gasket and actually chip the paint off of the rack, the board would show a ding.
I also asked the to explain the bubbling on the outside of the rack.
              I'm waiting to hear back.

Can't believe how much of a PITA this is for you. Should really be a no brainer, your boat is new and under warranty!! With the coin being charged for new boats, you would expect that the level of service and customer care would be above and beyond expectations. They should be apologizing for the trouble and taking care of the issue no questions asked. Keep pushing them until you get satisfaction. Thankfully, your dealer seems to be helping out.

Well, they are sending new board racks to my dealer.
The owner of my dealership contacted them and got the claim reversed.
He forwarded me the email and it stated that they reversed it because I have not had the boat 1 year yet.
They sent a call tag for my current racks, so If you have an order in for a new Nautique, check the racks for touchup paint before you take delivery! LOL

Happy to hear that they are taking care of you. Hopefully your efforts will be rewarded by receiving racks with a better finish. Kudos to your dealer for stepping up and helping you address this.

Wow I'm surprised by some of the comments??? Either Nautique warranty has gone down hill in last couple years or I have the best dealer on the planet! Because during the time I've owned my 08 210, never and I mean never have I heard of Nautique not covering something I've had warranty issue with. I mean nothing!!!! Even when my boat had almost 400hrs and was just 1 month shy of warranty being up I had some vinyl work covered!

Nautique should cover this. This is what sets Nautique apart from the knock offs. I would hammer them hard until it's fixed.

I had a tower issue on my old boat, they are painted not powder coated.

                          1. Roswell was chosen by Nautique, Nautique gives the warranty on the boat therefore it should be covered.

                          2. The dealer, if he cares could just find his regular repair guy to get them repainted. No biggie? Every dealer has a decent body shop that can repair fiberglass let alone paint a board rack gloss black.

I have same issues, also have a spot on the top of the tower were it looks like body filler on flat spot is lifting?

Will go to the dealer with this.
