If it is powder coating, you will need to seal that up ASAP. If powder starts to release and moisture starts getting behind it, it will release in sheets (check out the clear coat on mid 2000s GM Trucks - it separates in SHEETS) I could see where this could possibly be considered "wear and tear" as it is where the boards would hit, but with it being so new, I think a warrant claim would be valid. For the time being, you may wish to use some touch up paint or clear nail polish to at least seal up the edges to prevent it from separating further from moisture.
post the good bad and ugly about your dealer and experience here; steer the dealer to the thread if need be. I'm sure those in the future would like to know your dealer or Correct Craft doesn't have great customer service policies.
I do not agree with this comment at all. Please work with your dealer directly and give them a fair chance to represent you and "go to bat for you". Getting online and quickly creating a bad review will not work towards your favor with the dealer long term. They have a business to run and their reputation is dependent on their business succeeding. At least give them a fair chance and if the dealer does everything they can for you - even if Nautique still denies the claim - they at least did all they could. There are too many people that jump online (forums, yelp, trip advisor, google reviews) and bash places before even giving them a chance to correct things and make it right. Now, pointing them to this thread/forum to see that others are having issues as well may not be a bad idea.
You should have known better than to bump the board racks with boards.
Are they painted or powder coated? It looks sort of just like plain old paint, which would seem to be a bad choice to me. Good luck with getting it covered, I think they should fix this for you.
True, I think I will leave all of the boards at the house from now on. LOL
Not sure if it is paint or powder coating.
I thought the coating was chipped at first until I noticed a section that was bubbling up.
Your Location says League City. Is your boat used in Salt Water? Is it a Salt Water edition boat?
My boat is used on Lake Conroe, Lake Dunlap, and Clear Creek.
Clear Creek is brackish.
We do not have a coastal edition, however, I was told that it would not matter either way.

Just my .02... That shows really poor customer service and not standing behind their product at all! I would be highly disappointed if I spent over 100 g's on a boat and anything started flaking or chipping off with in the first 10 months of having it. And CC not willing to step up and take care of the defect. Period!!
I've had had to push hard on other higher priority warranty issues, so I haven't got around to minor cosmetic stuff like this. Please keep us updated how it turns out.
Seems like in 10 months and 60 hours you should be able to submerge the tower in salt water and still have the warranty in tact.
I know this is an exaggeration but if it was submerged in salt water I wouldn't give you a warranty of 10 seconds.
OP: has the dealer actually seen the problem or just pictures? I agree with the recommendation to push them, maybe show the part and explain what you've explained here.

Interesting reply from your dealer. Warranty claims can be a gray area sometimes. Dont be afraid to ask your dealer to push the issue. You have nothing to loose.
Thanks for the reply. I will make some calls tomorrow and see how far I get.
My dealer is nice, but I don't know how much they can help.
When I asked them what was "garden variety corrosion", they responded with "I'll have to google it".
That's never good.
I had this problem with ripped vinyl seats in my boat when warranty was nearly over. My dealer said that nautique denied it and said normal wear and tear. I told my dealer to tell nautique that the warranty does not exclude normal wear and tear. Get it covered. And they did. MarineMax Rogers got nautique to cover it.
Tell your dealer to tell them **** sure it is covered. If your dealer does not go to bat for you then they suck. End of story.
The paint and/or coating on my board racks (Both) is starting to bubble up and flake off.
I sent a few pics to my dealer. My service manager sent the pics to Nautique and they responded back with "its garden-variety corrosion, not covered".
The aluminum surface under the coating is nice and clean and smooth, not corroded.
The paint is not corroded nor does it look bad. It is just releasing from the metal.
It seems to me that the cleaning and prepping before application would be the problem???
Our boat is only 10 months old with 60 hrs. this seems a little pre mature even if it was corrosion.
It also seems crazy that it wouldn't be covered no matter what. I mean less than 1 year old, really?!
I do not have a problem taking responsibility if I tear something up or do something wrong, but I don't see how this has anything to do with me.
We are not in extream conditions and my boat is fully detailed after EVERY usage and stored in a dry storage. NEVER left in the elements.
Should I take this on the chin or contact Nautique for more assistance?
I don't mind hearing opinions, but real warranty experience is what I am after.
