I am still searching for a person who has experienced wakesurfing or boarding on a Sport Nautique 2013 or newer. Does it provide an adequate wake for a high level recreational wakesurfer???

Finding a boat that does a good job with both slalom and wake surfing is going to be tough to find. You will need to compromise somewhere. If you are looking to get into wake surfing I'd look for a Super Sport model (v-drive) over the Sport model (direct drive). While the Sport / Air variant will give you a surf-able wake, you will get a much better wake from the Super Sport / Super Air models.

I agree. You are at two completely different ends of the wake spectrum. I tried the same thing for several years. Had a Supra Comp that had a superb slalom wake. Couldnt put enough ballast to make a good surf wake. The wake and pocket were just too small. Sold the Comp and moved up to an AN 226. Now that I know what a good surf wake is, wouldnt go back. But .... I gave up slalom. Have friends with comp tow boats, but slalom not an option on a hull designed to throw a big wake. A compromise will be exactly that.

I had a 2000 sport nautique (direct drive) and surfed behind it.
It was a pain to setup and not a lot of push if your a beginner, but you could do it.
I agree you are going to have to pick your favorite and lean more in one direction.

We have a '13 200v Sport; it provides a very nice slalom wake and can provide a nice surf wake for a recreational enthusiast. If we have a small passenger load in the boat, we fill a 400lb bag that sits on top of our factory tank. It may not be the best at any of the three (slalom, wake, surf); but I feel that it is the best crossover out there to do it all.'13 200V Sport Nautique

I have an 2002 Super Sport. I've only had it a few months and I'm still trying to dial in the surf wake. Currently I have 2 400lb sacs in the front and 2 750lb sacs in the rear. With the boat listed to the port side I can get a pretty decent push. Like I said I'm still trying to play with it but it is def doable.2002 Nautique Super Sport, 5.8 litre GT40 with Flight Control Tower

I have a 2011 200 and agree with NautiqueOasis. I upgraded from a 2004 Air Nautique 216 (direct drive). I feel the ski wake on the 200 is comparable to the 216, but the wakeboard and wake-surf wake is much better and much easier to set up. We wake-surfed all last summer with stock ballast. Extra weight never hurts though😃.

This pains me to write but in the 20 foot cross over area I'm afraid the Malibu VTX does beat the the sport 200 for a boat that slalom skis and surfs. While the sport 200 has a slightly better slalom wake the VTX really beats it for a surf wake. With a power wedge and surf gate it really is respectable. I would personally never buy a Malibu after owning a couple Nautiques, but Nautique really needs to get NSS or some type of surf system on the sport 200.

First - you posted in the For Sale section, not sure you are going to get the responses you are looking for.
Specifically what year are you talking about? Your previous post did not include a year and many, including me, assumed you were referring to an earlier generation Sport. The later Sport was introduced in 2011 with three models; 200, 216 and 226.
