SV211 Swim Platform and Deck Pads Chalking

Has anyone expirenced "Black Chalking" from the pads on the swim platform, stern steps, and gunnel step pads? Is there any aftermarket products that you can use to help prevent this? It's been spreading all over the white upholstry and is a pain to clean. Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Half way down the page of Correct Crafts Warranty under EXCEPTIONS:
"Normal maintenence of boat, or any component thereof, including but not limited to alignment, adjustments, connectors, saltwater/brackish water corrosion, and wear items including, but not limited to, non-skid material, battery,....."

So is this the true reason why I like teak platforms better than the composite?

Maybe you can get them replaced with the new gray-ish pads that are on the new 220 now... is that possible?

We just detailed an 05 sv 211 and the pads were doing the same thing.I don't think the materials are the greatest.

maybe treat them with some 303, it may help protect it from the sun and keep it from chalking. I don't know for sure, just an idea!

I actually put the 303 on the platform and now that I think of it that does help the problem...

other manufactures had the same issue and the company stepped up very quickly to replace.

Only way to find out is to actually submit the claim. All warranties have to get pre-apporved before any work can be done. Replacing the platform is a huge job getting everything to line up again properly... Be submit it and lets find out... Only time will tell

Why would you replace the entire platform? Couldn't you just peel the old pad of, and stick a new pad on?

would probably be more cost effective just to replace the platform for the labor aspect of it.
