Just bought my 1st Nautique. I'm having trouble with its tracking while going down the lake by myself. Its sets very low on the drivers side. Talked to dealer about this and told me to add ballast to the left side of the boat. I would like to keep weight down for slalom skiing. Am I going to have to pump water in this boat to get ok tracking. I have had Response boats by Malibu for a long time and recall this being a problem. I realize there should be alittle lean , but this seems to be excessive. Bought this Sport 200 because it has the best reviews for slalom wakes for V-drive boats.

Pretty normal for a light-weight boat like a 200 to lean with just a driver in the boat. Even my G23 does this, but I am about 220 or so. I have a custom preset in LINC for adding just the right amount of ballast to the port tank to get rid of the lean when I am by myself.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. I'm thinking they changed the hull in 2012, but I don't know that for sure. My prop is a left hand rotation. My friends Nautique OB200 is a righthand rotation I believe. He told me his does not lean like mine. Mt boat is pretty level till it gets up on plane. I'm thinking that the prop torque is probably my enemy with this hull. I bought this boat for the slalom wake, so I hate to add more weight to fix the problem. The wake package was an option, but at this point it would be hard to do without it. I'm going to get in other sport 200's somewhere and see if theirs is as bad as mine.

The hulls from 2011 to current are all the same. From my experience, the Sport 200 does lean more than DD boats. I have had many different sport 200s in the course. They all ski, drive and (with driver only) lean the same. It may be possible the fuel plays a role in how bad the lean is. We usually run under 50% to help soften the wakes at longer lines. I have always considered putting weight ~150lbs or so under the observer seat to balance. My concern with that is leaning too strong to the port side when evenly weighted with people. Putting weight in the rear port tank will help for everyday driving, but adds unwanted weight to the stern. For what it's worth, I have not noticed the boat leaning affecting the wakes. From the boat it may look like the wake is affected, but I don't feel it. I also suggest putting a pretty decent pull on the boat with your tune able rudder. Without it, it may he possible that the boat tracks inconsistent when being pulled by a skier back to level, then rolling back to the starboard lean

I appreciate the comments on experience. I've used the boat more now and had different people in it. I will say I tried numerous rudder settings and it did not change much other than the pressure on the steering wheel. Hull seems to be very weight sensitive,I move people around in boat to get it to run level. I don,t like asking people to move. Has anyone tried trim tabs on boat? Does the tabs affect wake adversely. I was going to play with ballast in tanks but people don,t always sit the same different drivers and skiers change everything. I also wish we had a righthand rotation, but I guess I care play with ballast if it's just me. Probably will have to weight under drivers seat. Would be nice to make that vdrive right hand rotation. By the way this boat is heavier than my previous boats. Previous were directdrives.
