As they said in Deliverance, don't think about it, just do it!

I echo Austin's comments above. Started out looking at G21 and went with SAN 210. Check out reviews on Wakeboarding mag site - the reviewers try to be emotionally neutral in the reviews because they are reviewing their advertizers products, but the guy gets almost giddy about the 2014 SAN 210 surf wake. Its wake also might be less intimidating without ballast when it's time for those young kids of yours to start riding (or - blasphemy - go tubing). My 3 year old granddaughter does fine in our 210.

As to the G23, see picture from Joe above - if you need a zoom lense to see the surfer, that's a serious wave.

      All2matt--

Have you driven and surfed behind a G23? I totally agree with Tall......very easy to dial in within minutes with stock ballast. Not only is the wave very respectable but the Linc system is very easy to use and hey there's so much storage you can bring anything on board.

For now I think Nautique is the boat manufacturer to beat in this industry if you feel fit, finish, quality and resale are important to you.

Have not ridden or been in one yet. Having my brother in law take a run thru in one as he has a dealership in his area, so I should be able to get some ideas before the wife and I take a trip out to see/ride it.

going out tommorrow afternoon on a G23. Ive watched the BUXTON walk thru and have a decent idea about whats in store for the inside but I know that going to be just the basics. So what eles inside, outside and on water should i look out for? The little things that really make a G23 special over all others? what speed and NSS/NCRS settings should I really try out. I want to feel the true usable spectram of the surf wake. Which steup for a mellow skim style and which for a super lippy surf style?

Matt- you are in good hands with Buxton and Andrew. Their service department is the absolute best I have ever seen.

Figure out which G you want, work your deal.... and have Andrew work a custom "Blanton Custom Ballast Setup" into your deal. Bottom line: its custom plumbed twin 1100s in the both rear trunks. I've have them do it on my last 2 Gs, and nearing in on 400hrs on Gs... its been flawless on both. Blanton in their service department is the custom ballast Jedi.

Andrew knows how to set up the boat.

Full 3 tank OEM Ballast. NCRS 4 Surf Vert 2 and 11.6mph. Have them bring an additional 1100 sac and pump for the surf side trunk and have someone take pics of the smile on your face!

I just watched the video, my dealer is actually in Minot, ND so a LONG LONG LONG ways away or else I would definilty check them out :-) they are new this yr to nautique so Im under a huge assumtion they will not have the knowledge of fine tuning the surf wake. I think this may be the fist wake/ski boat theyve ever carried by a few things the sales guy said. It seems he might be a little green in the watersports dept so Im not expecting Im going to be able to rely on him for anything surf/wake related. So hopefully you guys can get me some stuff he wont know.

My wife and I spent a lot of time in both a 2014 23 LSV and a 2015 VLX last summer while we were demoing. I felt the same way about the lack of push especially toward the back of the wave. We didn't have additional bow weight, but did have 750 plug' plays installed. If you don't need the G for wake boarding, I would also try a 230. You may get what you need at a much lower price point. If you take out a 230 have them up the rear 400 pro ballast to 750's. Have them fill everything until there spitting water out the vents then dump 150 pounds out of the non-surf side, NNS at 2, 10.4-10.6 mph. The water depth is going to be an issue no matter what boat. Happy hunting.🏄😀

I think that speed may apply only to the 230, so make sure to pay attention there. Both NYRyan and I said to take the G23 up to 11.6 or so. The stock speed on the surf setting is somewhere in the 10's and I found it to make the wave too short. I would not have been impressed with the slower speed.

Matt, if this wave is not better stock than your Tige, I will be very surprised, and would tend to blame it on the dealer.

The boat was ridiculous, absolutely everything was top notch. Liked how much better my sight line was with the offset dash. It had green metal flake which looked great. But the color scheme wasn't quite set up correct, with a white tower it woulda been a huge plus. Inside and outside the boat was everything we could ask for. The surf wake was nice, it was obvious that with a more knowledgeable driver it could be great. the NSS worked way better than surfgate and transfers were surprisingly easy, I knew I rode backside a couple times a year for a reason. The wake was a bit softer, we went up to 11.4, I think with a little list and more speed it would be way better. Before the G the wife was more in the 85-90000 range but after she said if we can get one for 110000 then she'd be happy with it. I think how deep it was for our 3 little midgets plus all hidden ballast and storage is what sold her. I guess since she makes 10 times what I do she gets to decide 😊 obviously with a little influence from me.

so I guess now we are going to have to wait those end of the year blowout sales and get ourvselves a new or 2014 nauty. I give the interior a 10, exterior 8.5, and the wake 8.5. But obviously that wake will be more of a 9.5 with the perfect set up and an adtl 750-1000#s. I still like the tige tower better and free ride graphics better but that metal flake gel coat just pops on the G plus that sea deck flooring is just so nice!

love the boat can't wait to step up!!!!

                            All2mat,

You will love the G23 and never think you settled for less if you stick to your plan. If it were me I'd start scanning onlyinboards and the post something on PN in the boat section. No need to wait until next year if the right boat comes along for the right price.

Do you have any pictures from the test ride?

😊 yeah my wife and both like the look of the one solid clean piece with now tubes. I really liked the illusion tower back when Malibu first came out with it, but for true classic tubes the original flight tower is the best looking.

I did forget to mention how awesome the interior speakers looked, they looked like a custom done home system, so clean

So im new to a G23 after a couple Mastercraft Xstar and a X45 which was alright but not great. Took your advise on the 11.6 and wow what a diff over the 10.9 preset. Thanks a million. I can now surf long and recover quite easily. Im happy with the money I spent now....lol.
                                Thanks again
