New G21 ballpark price with trailer

    Hi,

Looking to get some feedback from g21 buyers in 2014/2015 to check how would cost a brand new g21 with the following options:

Basic tower speaker and tower prewiring
    Surf system
    Tower mounted Bimini
2 axles trailer with disk brake

I am not looking for a 4th of July price but more an October price when the plant is ruining low and they have a sheer number of slot available. I already checked seedelearcost web site and put a 20% discount on final MSRP and ended up with a 100k boat no trailer. I know a professional who got $5000 more in options and ended up with a 100k boat with trailer but I will not be able to match his discount. I hear that a basic trailer with 2 axles and disk brake should run about $5000. Not sure if this price still apply to a G21.

Looking for U.S Dollar price for southeast from a dealer who is turning many boats a year. If you do not want to give the price you paid to an online forum you can still pm me. I will appreciate and keep the information private.

If you have way more options that is fine too, it gives an idea.

No need to argue on the model year 15 vs 16. Let's assume price will be the same even if wrong. This is another debate that I prefer not to discuss and concentrate on price paid.

    Thanks in advance

Trying your best to get the cheapest deal possible is not always the best idea.

If you get the boat for 105K with a decent trailer, it would seem to be very good.

      Some things to think about:

      A 2016 will be 6-8% more than a 2015....typical annual increase.

If you want a "deal" buy a leftover 2015 or a demo 2015. Last September/October I could have bought a maxed out G23 with the PCM450 for $109K. It was a demo with 20 hours or so.

20% off list price is not a very common discount as it is with Malibu and a few others.

$5K for a trailer is not impossible but definitely on the low side. Trailers do help with resale so a no frills trailer may end up costing money on down the road. I bought a trailer with every option possible, custom wheels, matching metal flake fenders all for $6,500.

Meet with your dealer many times, let them know you are interested, test drive a few boats......then negotiate the best deal. I do think early Fall is the best time to buy.

Thanks for your input. However I did not see in my post an assumption showing that I am looking for the cheapest deal. Trying your best to get a fair price should replace your sentence. I am looking at what others paid in arm length transaction. I do not expect dealers to not make their part in the business but I do not want them to make the deal of the year on me neither. Dealers have the option to lesser the price when demand is low due to seasonal factor or flooring cost. They also have the strategy to sell a sheer number of boats by reducing the margin and make profit on maintenance or after sale services. I know some dealers for another brand that prefer sell fewer boats but get higher than average margin on each boat: price vs volume. I am trying to figure out some average price range for a G21.

Whatever, I take your answer as inputs

        Thanks

I cant speak for your region but if you are going to buy a new boat you usually have to buy it from the local dealer. That relationship is very important. This is quote typical for for the boating industry.

I am aware of this issue even if we live in a free country. I will clarify my intent to avoid getting into some side debates. I am looking to get an idea for a fair price. If for any reason I cannot get this fair price from the local dealer I am fine walking away. What I am trying to avoid is to walk away from a fair deal. So please keep your answers straight to the question, no need to open some debates.

I don't think you will ruin the relationship by being a tough negotiator. I think we are all just a little different. Some people like to feel like they got the best price ever. Some people like to feel like they got a "fair deal". It just varies. Some people just ask for a discount and take whatever the dealer says. And some don't ask at all.

Thank you for the economics lesson.

Since you were new here, I thought it reasonable to get a feel for where you are coming from and caution you against screwing the dealer. It sounds like your attitude is healthy.

And for the record, I did give my opinon on the price.

                  Tallredrider,

I did take your input on the price and thank you for that input. Sorry if the economics lesson looks like a lesson. It was not my goal. So, I guess now my post is clear to everyone.

Agree that the deal has to be "fair" on both side otherwise dealers will soon be an extinct species and buyers too.

I saw a 2014 G21 the other day new for 96k range with trailer if I remember correctly. Very nice black, blue and white with a 409. I was a little surprised at the price. Thought it would be a little over 100k.

Ugly Johns in Catoosa near Tulsa. Let me know what you think. I am in Tyler just a few hours from you.

I called Ugly Johns today just to see if it was still there but it had been sold.

JoeA I missed this post from you,

First, thanks for all your inputs, that is great information.

On the trailer price I am a bit confused you say that $5000 is low for what I should pay, but you have a full option trailer for $6,500. Can you shed some more information on the trailer part. I guess that if for $6,500 I have a "Mastercraft trailer", I can get a "Nautique" trailer for $5000, or I miss something.

PS: "Mastercraft" and "Nautique" here are used for fun. I hope I do not offense anyone.
