xxrb....I paid $6950 for my 2015 Boatmate for my G21. I did request the Boatmate over the Magnum that my dealer sometimes uses. As for the post above....no such thing as a Nautique brand trailer for a G. You do get some pretty cool back-lit Nautique cut outs on the sides of the Boatmate.

Kenv thanks for your feedback
I guess you did not get my joke on mastercraft vs nautique. Mastercraft is known, true or not is not the issue here, to have bling boats with a hefty MSRP price. So the reference to mastercraft for a heavy optioned trailer.

You may be able to get a no frills trailer with 14" wheels for $5,500. Or you can spend $1,000 more and get every option. Trailers do help sell boats when your ready to let her go. I personally think you'll the get $1,000 back when you sell so really it is a no cost upgrade. This was my experience with a Boatmate trailer which are made here in TN where I live. I suspect you have similar experiences regardless of manufacturer of the trailer.

xxrb....yeah, I got the Mastercraft thing....I guess what I thought you meant was brand trailers. Mastercraft still makes a "Mastercraft" trailer I believe as Nautique stopped making their own trailer to sell with boats awhile back. You are right though.....a few years back I would say Mastercraft got labeled "Bling Boat" where Nautique stayed more "Function First" boat. NIce trailer and boat Joe....I only got the standard 14's on my Boatmate but they still look pretty good. Love how yours matches though!!!

Some interesting thoughts on this thread. I have a great relationship with our dealer, and get a friendlier price than 20% off. I also personally don't believe a dealer will let themselves be screwed over by the customer. A dealer isn't going to buckle and lose money, just because a customer worked them over. So to the OP, 20% off is a really good deal; 25% off is a great deal. A dealer will not hold it against you for scoring a deal. I wish I had timid negotiators back when I sold boats'08 196LE (previous)

Agree,
There is no willingness to screw anyone here. Dealer will try to get the most out of the sales I guess, and I will try to figure out his floor price for which he will not go below. My goal is to reach a figure close to this floor price for which, I repeat, he is ok to sale but not under. So, getting some feedback on what others paid will help me getting close to this floor price. So, far it seems that when the market is a buyer market (September/December) a 20% off should be close to his floor price. This percentage increase if the model is in inventory, and increase again if this is a one year old model and still in inventory. Your 25% deal look like more a yearly deal for which the buyer buys a brand new boat every year and I believe it can go above this 25%.

Good plan! I wouldn't get too caught up into the relationship thing, or the best interest of the dealer, because he's not looking out for you. Just look at it this way...if you wrote him a check for retail, he'd take it! Good luck and enjoy the new boat...post pics!'08 196LE (previous)

Just go make an offer of what you are willing to pay for said boat and if the dealer is good with it, you have a boat. If he's not, walk away and buy a boat that will fall in the range you are willing to pay. People are not going to come out and tell you what they paid for their boats, highly frowned upon because things vary so much. Different markets yield different prices and even more so different situations make for different deals. Why does it have to be about the deal? I am assuming you can afford a $120k boat or you would not be considering it. If so, I assume you make a very high hourly rate at what ever you do. You have spent at least a few thousand dollars at that hourly rate between here and Wakeworld trying to figure out the best deal. Is a couple grand savings really worth the agony of going through all this? This should be a fun experience not a dreadful one. If you beat the dealer down you will ultimately be last in line when it comes to service time, and that for sure will not be fun.

No reason to worry about annoying me, not that you are, just trying to help you understand more so in the boat buying market than any other market I have ever experienced there are so many variables in pricing. Dealer allotments vary based on units sold and if the dealer only gets 20 boats a year they have to make more per boat than a dealer with 100 boat allotment. I can tell you my dealer does not do as good of deals on new boat purchases but will give top dollar for the same boat on trade in for a new boat so the net difference always works out. His market is super strong for new and used so guess he can do it. Just keep in mind at the end of the day the delta between a good deal and a great deal is really not that much money.

Scoring a killer deal is not going to put you last in line for service. Even being disrespectful to the service manager may not result in that, but I wouldn't blame them. Plus, the service manager doesn't have a "back of the line" list based on sale price of the boat. Work your best deal while being nice, and you're golden. After buying my first 196 darn near cost, I've become long time friends with owner of the dealership.'08 196LE (previous)

Thanks again to both of you,
You are part of the best answers I got so far. I hope I will never be disrespectful as it does not help anyone. Swc5150, I will not write it in better term that you had. However, I believe you need to bring them a lot of after sales services to avoid the back of the line issue while being disrespectful. At least, I will not do my best to serve you if you are disrespectful unless you are one of my top revenue generating customers.
